Please Help! Stolen Yorkie from Sarasota Fl 1 Attachment(s) Please help this dog is not mine but a fellow Yorkie mom near me! He was taken yesterday! Please feel free to share this as much as possible. I've made reports with sheriffs office and animal control. I'm willing to offer a cash reward and no questions ask, we just want our fur baby back. I was watching her when it happened, she was on her way to me and she stopped because 'everyone is a friend to her' and that's when she was picked up and drove away. This is my 4 lb yorkie, I saw someone in a hatchback blue Honda Civic pick her up from orsova way and savannah. Please bring her back or call me I will come get her no questions asked!! Please call , 470-331-0438 this will be a sad Christmas if we don't get her back!! Please!!!! Taken December 19th Friday. At 10:30 am Phillipi gardens by swift rd Area, South Sarasota off of constitution blvd |
I am so sorry. I hope someone sees this and your baby comes home safely. |
So very sorry. She's a doll baby. I hope she is returned immediately! Hugs. |
New Details : A neighbor saw it happen also, I spoke with him today and he said there was a 'wv' bumper sticker on the back (meaning West Virginia) and it was a woman in her 40s. These are new details I just got. And that's all I have so far. |
Is your baby microchipped?? Be sure to include that she is (hopefully she is!)....also, is there anyone around you with security cameras on their houses? A lot of criminal activity is recorded on a neighbors security camera. This is so brazen! |
This is not my yorkie, mine is safe under my feet. I am trying to help spread the word for this yorkies devastated mommy. This one is not chipped. I just asked the mommy if there are security cameras around. No answer yet. I do know she combed the neighborhood today and has flyers hung up around town. I do think I will take my yorkie Monday for a chip! |
This is heartbreaking. How can someone do this to another person' loved pet. Please keep us posted. |

Her yorkie was not on a leash. She was outside playing with the yorkie, the yorkie ran across the street. She was calling it back and the yorkie was coming but a person at the stop sign opened the car door and the yorkie went to that person. :( |
They should notify the local newspaper and local TV stations, sounds like someone from W.Va.was visiting, saw the dog, thought it was lost and picked it up. This W.Va. person may not necessarily have been visiting on your street. This could be a very innocent thing, not a meaningful thief, more of a save the dog from being killed by a car. This person that took this dog may not be aware they should take all steps necessary to find the owner. It's worth a shot. |

We have contacted the reporters of the local news paper by email, we have posted this flyer on all local facebook groups. I am not sure how to get to our local news station but we have posted the flyer on their facebook page. |
Thanks all for any ideas and support! It is greatly appreciated! We want ideas even if we already tried them, we may stumble across something we didn't think of. I just want to say thank you. |
This baby is back home! The owner spotted a car last night in her neighborhood. Today she got the neighbor who also saw the dog taken and they both said it was the car! The cops were called and this baby is home where she belongs. |

That is great news when I read your post and how the yorkie was stolen and the circumstances I didnt have any hope of your friend getting that yorkie back. I quess there are christmas miracles |
omg.... I am so happy the baby was found!!!! |
OMG...so happy the Yorkie is home again. I wonder about why the lady would just drive away with the dog rather than park and start asking the visible people about where it lived. I have found dogs in the middle of a street...a very busy street...and the first thing I did was look for people to ask after parking on the side of the road, stopping traffic, picking up the small dog, and getting it back on the side of the street where there were houses. I am just SO happy. She is home again..what a nightmare, watching your dog be taken in front of you. Hugs |
WOW....Thank goodness.....Someone was watching over her. I am so glad they were able to get her back. Is anything going to happen with the lady who took her? |

They are not pressing charges, they are just happy Haley made it back home! They asked from the start to bring her back home no questions asked! What Christmas gift! The police have on record who brought Haley back. |
Wonderful news! |
Thank god your neighbor has her baby back. One of the few lucky ppl that see their lil baby again. Boy would I love to be a fly on the wall where that lady that picked up the pup is staying. Just very happy the pup is back home. |

Also, a member here was walking her Yorkie on a leash when a man scooped her up and put her under his coat. The Yorkie was wearing a Buddy Belt, so the owner was able to pull her baby away, and some people came to her aid as well. There are numerous reports of people jumping fences to snatch other people's dogs. I had a neighbor that had that happen...they had an 8' stockade fence. I am very happy they got this baby back. |

This was a very weird situation, from the sound of it. I cannot imagine the horror the owner must have felt watching her Yorkie snatched by a stranger, and the joy in her heart now that she has her Yorkie baby back home with her. My best to owner and Yorkie baby...happy holidays! |
A Christmas miracle... |
I'm a neighbor of this owner here in Sarasota. Two weeks ago, I was walking with my dog and this tiny dog comes out of nowhere and I pick it up. No collar. I stop the first person who drives by who tells me that she saw kids playing with her in a yard two houses down. I knock on the door and she answers the door, not seeming surprised and actually a little annoyed. I ask if this was her dog and she said that she "puts her out in the morning to do her thing and she eventually makes her way back"...I was floored. I told her that we have coyotes and ospreys who live in the neighborhood that would have no problem grabbing her. She responded that she had just moved from Georgia and didn't know. I told her they have Ospreys and Coyotes in Georgia. I handed her the dog and mentioned that she may also want to put a collar on her. I walked home thinking that that dog will end up missing or dead or both. Other neighbors I talked to also said they saw the dog running around, after all, we dog owners know our neighborhood doggies, so I'm not surprised that someone picked up the dog WITH NO COLLAR and walking around free. Perhaps another concerned neighbor. I heard from a neighbor who has a blue car who was accused of taking the dog (but didn't, apparently, they were walking around the neighborhood looking for blue cars and knocking on doors!). I'm a dog lover and this woman doesn't know how to take care of this little life. I am POSITIVE that I will see it running around again, soon enough! |
dog A Christmas miracle! My heart broke when read your post and I am so thankful your baby is back home. A great lesson for all of us to be ever so careful with our Yorkies. Never leave them in a car alone. Heartless people will take them. Today I send prayers of thanks for your miracle. No one knows the pain of losing a pet like the owner and you have your precious Yorkie back! God is watching over you and your family! |
