Thanks it does make sense, it just looked so swollen! Buster had an inguinal hernia when he was born and the breeder had him neutered at the same time as the hernia surgery according to his paperwork. I can just picture Mac lounging as he gets his heat treatments lucky boy to have such great nurse!

Macks hernia resulted from an exploratory surgery he had 2 years ago. Something inside didnt heal right and it slowly popped up. We left it alone for awhile but it was gradually getting larger and the vet was afraid (and I quote her exact words) that "his insides were going to fall though the opening". :eek: That was a very scary thought so we got it fixed as soon as she said that! lol He is definitely doing much better with this surgery than his last so thats a good thing. And yes, he flops on his back and welcomes the heat! Its a funny sight...I should video it!

Sending healing prayers to Mr Mack. He had quite a day of it and bet he is glad to be back with his mommy.

I'm going to call our vet tomorrow.... The actual swelling looks to have gone down and all that remains is a lump.... A bigger lump then he had before. The "lump" before was the hernia.... It almost appears that he has an even bigger hernia now! I should have left well enough alone. :(

Oh no! Sending prayers for your little guy. He's a fighter. Hopefully everything is fine and he will be back to normal soon. Let us know what the vet says.

I'm sure you did, and are doing right, by little Mack! Don't beat yourself up---even a little bit! We have to trust the professionals, ourselves, our little ones...And most importantly in the One looking out for all of us. This is probably a lot rougher on you than Mack; I believe he'll be just fine--and you will, too!!! You're both lovable little honeys--All the best!!!!

Thank you for your kind words! My vet still is certain it was completely fixed and this is just swelling (via picture)... Time will tell!!!

Oh Mack. :( Hernias are always hard. You are a tough boy. Very tough boy. You will beat this, I know it! Go Mack! :thumbup:

So glad he is home safe with his mommy.. When Colt had liver surgery someone on this forum told me about putting oneies on him, that way he couldn\'t lick his incision, worked really well for him and he didn\'t have to wear that cone. Sending prayers and best wishes to the sweetest little boy Mr. Mack

Just seeing this about Little Mack and hated to read about his surgery. Poor, sweet little baby. I know he\'s better by now but here\'s some more prayers just in case and hopes for a better next year for little Mack Brown. He\'s been such a brave trooper and made it through worse so I know he\'ll come out on top again. He sure is a pretty boy!
