Why does everyone think my yorkie doesn't look like a yorkie? 3 Attachment(s) Hi all, Last week i brought home a 3 month old precious parti yorkie. As I've been going in public with him, everyone seems to be telling me that he doesn't look like a yorkie at all, now i'm actually worried that maybe my breeder lied to me because he's supposed to be purebred. My only issue is that i did buy him online so i cannot prove for sure that he is 100% other than what i was told through the website and the fact that it says he and his parents are both ACA registered yorkies. (mind you this is a reputable website) So i guess my question is if he looks like a yorkie or not..? Attachment 403209 Attachment 403210 Attachment 403212 |
I have an AKC parti yorkie, and they have similar coloring, but a huge difference in face and coat. ACA registry can register anything, mixed or not. I would question if the pup was mixed too. What website did you buy him from? |
Your baby is adorable. Keep in mind that not everyone knows dog breeds really well. If you say just Yorkie, people may only know traditional color Yorkies and may be confused. Before I joined YT, I didn't know about Partis or Biewers. :) |
I think its his hair cut maybe and color. But i only know standard black gold. But ive seen all white . Look threw photos of peoples babies. He has a real short cut. |
Well he is adorable either way but I can understand your concern...especially if you paid a yorkie/biewer /parti price. I hope someone can help you get some answers! |

He is adorable and the hair cut throws me off too. Im curious to know what the website is also. I wouldn't worry about what other people say but I understand your concern. How much did you pay for him if you don't mind me asking. |
i got him from purebred breeders.com and i paid about 1,600 for him ! we actually just got his hair cut because when we first got him his hair was extremely stringy and at an awkward length.. his hair isn't as fluffy as i expected it to be so I'm not sure what is going on... |
I also wanted to say his head shape looks like yorky. It doesnt matter hes a doll baby . Unless your worried about getting ripped off. Im not familiar with other colored yorkies or types id do research om ythe parti yorky and photos of them. |

Your baby is cute....I did a lot of research and I have seen a wide range of looks for Parti yorkies just as traditional yorkies also have a wide range of different looks. Were you able to see the parents? Seeing the parents gives you an idea of what they will look like when they are adults. |
Most people only know the traditional color of a yorkie. Although since the ACA is not a reputable registry he could be a mix. |
Your pup is so cute I wouldn't worry about it. :) The Parti Yorkie was created here in America from AKC Yorkshire Terriers that carried the parti gene color. A breeder in California created the line by breeding more and more of the white recessive gene color together to eventually become what we see today, as being almost all white. He is adorable! :-) |
He looks exactly like a parti yorkie should look aI think most people just arent used to that coloring or a parti yorkie so I wouldnt let it bother you |
He sure is adorable. Agree it's maybe the haircut. |
He is adorable either way, but I'm a little thrown off by the website you gave. This site is simply selling puppies for breeders. Did you actually talk with the breeder? Also, the site is called "Purebred Breeders" but they also sell "designer breeds" which are mixes NOT purebred. |
You bought your puppy from here? Purebred Breeders - America's Top Dog Breeders on PurebredBreeders.com They are brokers. No reputable breeder would provide them with puppies. |

He looks it to me' |
I always think when in doubt, get a DNA done. It isn't expensive and if he is pure yorkie then you will be satisfied. If not, get a lawyer to help you get your money back. |
They are brokers for puppy mills. Today Show Airs HSUS Investigation into Huge Internet Puppy Broker : The Humane Society of the United States Again, NO reputable breeder would give his/her dogs to be sold in such a way. Did you actually meet the doggie parents of your puppy? Did you see them in their daily environment? Did you meet the actual breeder at his/her home? What I find more concerning than the looks of a puppy, is that money was given to support this kind of facility. |

Unfortunatly we as dog lovers dont know these things until we come here. Usually after we have our babies. |

To be honest, i wouldn't even care if he was a mixed breed, i just wish i wasn't being lied to, thats what stinks about this whole situation. apparently i should be getting his registration forms in the mail soon along with his parent's so i suppose the truth will come out eventually |
