| Shampoo & conditioner suggestions wanted We are looking for suggestions for excellent shampoos and conditioners for our 15 month old, 3 pound female (Meri), who has a very thick and heavy coat. We bathe and groom and trim her ourselves (which we have done for all of our Yorkies) and she is quite a challenge, especially as far as matting goes. We do not want to use a puppy cut but keep her coat long but shorter than a show coat. Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated. |

| Isle of Dogs no. 10 shampoo and no. 51 conditioner are the best I've used for maintaining a healthy long coat. ZoE is now shaved short, so she doesn't require the heavy conditioning, but i just resumed using it with the dry air from the winter home heating.

| I also use this same pair of Isle of Dogs. I also use IV SanBernard Black Passion shampoo and masque, their Passion Fruit shampoo, and PEK conditioner. I signed up for email with them, and I wait for their sales. Otherwise, it's very expensive, but it lasts a long time. Chris Christensen Spectrum 10 is also nice.

| I use Iv San Bernard Black Passion and Mask, and PEK as well. And I agree, buy when they have sales. Sometimes I use Happytail Sparkle and Shine and Fur Butter. Cali has a thick coat but rarely any tangle issues.

| I just started using Espree Aloe Hydrating spray and love it. My Yorkie pup has a thick cottony-wooley coat and this appears to do wonders as I live in northern Arizona and our climate is unusually dry this time of year. I found it to help calm down the frizzies and really helps hydrate his coat. |

| Does Meri have a cotton coat or thick, heavy silk coat? Some of the products I like: Bio-Groom shampoos and Silk Creme Rinse Isle of Dogs Pet Silk Vellus

| Shampoo & conditiioner suggestrions Meri has a thick, heavy silky coat- not cottony at all. Thanks to all who responded with suggestions! We will start trying some of the products. (We are in the Lakes Region of NH where it is very dry in winter and tonight is forecast to be well below zero degrees). Good thing Meri is and always will be an indoor dog. Norm |

| i keep Lexie's coat just shorter than show length too, and have been using Espree Show Style shampoo & conditioners for a couple of years now. It's also super dry here in CO and I find her coat to be amazingly shiny, static & frizz-free. I use Argan oil on her wet coat after bathing & that is a real bonus!

We are battling winter dryness here. My boys are active outdoors and the grasses are hard on their coats. I miss the days when Max stuck to the pavement. The Espree Show Shampoo that Lap Princess suggested is another great choice. It's really a matter of trying different products to see what works best with your water type, your dog's coat, and different seasons of the year.

I've been using Yorkie Splash and Shine because I love the scent but I'm looking for a heavier conditioner. They have a trial pack if you want to try them out.

| I too use Yorkie Shine and Splash shampoo and conditioner. I really like it because days later you can still smell it on them. I have tried so many shampoos and this is the one I like the best.

| I've noticed that too! I really love the scent. I think the conditioner is a little light, though. I just looked at the Isle of Dogs #51 conditioner and it actually looks like it should be pretty good.

| I agree the conditioner is light. I'll have to check out the other one.

| They have a sample kit of the #10 shampoo, #51 conditioner and #63 detangle spray for yorkies but the shipping kills it. It goes from $15 to $23 for me. I have tried so many things before Yorkie Splash and ended up wasting it.. I need some more reviews lol.
