That was a cold blast that came through. We just got the edge of it here in WA, had high pressure that kept the wind from blowing and we had blue skies so not too bad. The furnace did a bit of work. Starting tomorrow, clouds, warmer temps and eventually rain will be back on the menu for Seattle. Gucci does the shiver thing his first trip out in the morning, transitioning from the warm bed and lack of movement... to outdoor morning cold.... later in the day, during our walk he is fine because he's moving, exercising and his sweater or jacket doesn't hurt. He was just a little more chipper today than earlier this week. |

When I got Cody he came with a shopping bag of "stuff" in that bag was a set of booties Yesterday I managed to get them on his front paws only, then he stood like a statue, would not move lol. I had assumed since they were in his bag the prev, owner had used them. I will keep putting them on him, see if he gets use to them. That video proved to me dogs can walk very well with them on. My winter concern is the SALT BRINE they spread on our main road. A reason Cody is not leash walked when it snows and my road is plowed then SALT BRINE is spread, the booties would do very well then. We will practice in the back yard first, before the first snow fall. The 16 degree morning temps we have been having the last week or two, with high winds Cody goes on deck, looks through the deck lattice to make sure that pesky lil squirrel has not invaded his yard, does his business, then scampers back indoors. Dressed properly these lil critters can be leashed walked, short walks are fine. All my past dogs were leased walked in the winter, snow, hail, rain, when I lived in NY. They were 20 min. walks, they were trained to potty outside. They did fine. |
Lol how cute im getting mine some booties little as those are i could make them. Might try some crocetted till i get realeased from doc to bend my neck . So i can sew. Im handy with making things. These guys are so little wouldn't take much. But until then need something for now but im afraid they will pull them off so velcro ones like the alaska video looks good. I also do not want boo to go backwards. I took me a month to start getting him to go outside. He has been doing great. I dont sleep at night right now so when he crawls up my side early and licks my ear or face to go out. Its hard to drag myself out of bed but i do it. The first time i put the sweater on boo crawled under the bed looked at me like i punished him. Just to bulky tho looks like a sumo wrestler when he walks lol. |
This was my question too..Is it too cold for them... I'm in Michigan. I have been worried it was too cold to let Boncuk out. It's been 19 with a wind chill of 7 and lake effect snows.. I'm worried he will get too cold. He wont wear socks. I feel bad keeping him inside but I worry about him getting sick. |
Well now, isn't he a handsome little man?! Very cute!! (Piper is my first!) |

To cold Sochi is 10 months now and would never use a pee pad, he always chewed them up, so I started taking him outside all the time. Now he goes to the door to go outside to potty. The cold doesn't seem to bother him, rain doesn't bother him much either. He thinks the back yard is the only place he is supposed to go potty. He won't even go when I take him for walks, he holds it till we come home, lol. I usually walk with my sister. She has a corgi, Sochi sees him pee and poo on our walks, but waits for home. Also he still pees like a girl.lol |
Chloe doesn't do well in the cold. :( I bought her a jacket but she still shivers a lot in the cold so I haven't been able to let her walk on the ground like in summer because I'm scared the floor will be super cold, too. If I take her out it's in her carrier or I carry her now. I feel that yorkie's are summer dogs, lol. |

Oh this sweater is super cute! Do you have the pattern online? I made Dex this one but I love the hood on yours :) |
Luna is 3 pounds. She goes outside. She is quick but she does it. I was worried when we had snow on the ground but my wonderful hubby cleared her a path from the door to her favorite tree and she was just fine. We are moving into our New house in about a week and I am not sure how she is going to transition to that so I am hoping to try to pad train her. I know people will tell me this is going to confuse her but I'm still going to try. Fingers crossed she takes to the pads so on the super cold days she can stay in. Only time will tell I guess. If not, I know even though she is small she will survive the cold for short potty breaks. |

No, I don't use a pattern. I just knit and adjust as I go, and end up undoing a lot until I get it right. |
