When you go away Where does everyone leave their lovebugs when they go away. I was wondering you who have more then one Yorkie and are going away where you can not take them, where do you leave them.... I would love to get another but do not know if I would have problems when I have to go away and its not possible to take her. Right now I stay at a friends if I have to go to Toronto and she has a cat. One Yorkie is okay 2 Im thinking would be a no no. Family looks after her sometimes but they have dogs of their own, even though they love her to pieces. |
When I go away , my Yorkies stay at my cousin David's home . Most of the time , I bring them with me . |
I Do Not go anywhere where my baby is not allowed. Well now that I have her. :) |
We are really lucky that we have a friends parents that are quite involved in our local 4H.....anyway the boys love to go there to their "camp". They adore our boys and the boys feel the same...everytime they get to go there they get so excited. It works great for us..if for some reason we are going to be gone for a long day we will take the boys to their house for the day- It works great for us- they love the boys and the boys love them too.... Ask around you may find a friends friend that would be a great sitter. |
My family is taking in three of ours and a litter while we are on vacation in March..my best friend will take in the baby Zaylee. She is the "middle child" and needs to be looked after more since she gets upset if you wont save her from the others. LOL Each and every one is so diff! |
If we were to go out of town and couldn't take tigger, I'd leave him at Petsmarts Pethotel. that way someone would be watching him 24 hours a day and there's a vet on site(tiggers vet) so I would feel really secure. I don't trust my boyfriends friend, Evan. |
Living in Germany gives me the opportunity to take Twinkie ANYWHERE with me. Most hotels allow animals so that makes it even easier to take her along. If for any reason I will need to leave her behind in the future I would leave her with a friend. It would be easier for me knowing that someone I know and trust will take care of her than taking her to a pet pension. |

When we go we always take our dogs with us. Well 99% of the time. If we can't we have a really good friend that dog sits. The min pin that we have sometimes they stay with her. I also have another friend the lady that has Wyatt's daddy. She kept Mollie & the puppies when they were about a week old when our son suddenly died. So I did not have to worry about them. Most of the time one of them is always available if needed. |
I am very lucky my mum looks after all my babies. She has her hands full thou as i got 1 yorkie, 1 Labrador, 2 cats and 1 rabbit!! |
I ususally take my 2, if not, I leave them with family. However, I have also used a pet sitting service several times before. We have a dog door and had the pet sitter come over to play and check on them a couple of times a day. She was great!!!! She left notes on how they interacted with her, what games they played, how much they ate. She also picked up the mail, put trash out, and rotated turning the lights on and off. I was a bad mommy and NEVER have crated my two boys, so they FREAK OUT when they are in a crate (at the vet, groomers....) I just know they wouldn't do well in a kennel. Not the Kennel's fault, it's mine. So I couldn't put them in one AND leave for days on end... a pet sitting service has been the best option for us!!! |
If I can take them with me they come. If not my Dad, or a close family friend watches them for me. They actually come back spoiled rotten, (worse than they already are ;) ) |
I have a wonderful woman who comes to my home to take care of mine. I find its not as disruptive for them. She has a pet sitting service and she will stop in for visits, stay over, and even take them on outings if you want. |
I always bring them with me . |
Mine stay with their grandma! They have fun at her house! |
We have lots of people who want to puppy sit. But we always take Princess with us. :D :D :D |
I have a friend come stay at my house. She is always up for changing. I have had my neighbors watch after both my Yorkie and my Bassett, but for no more than 2 days or so maybe 2 or 3 times. They leave them at my house during the night and bring them to theirs when they are home. |
If I can't take Bridget with me, she goes to Grandmas! She loves it there and gets spoiled rotten. |
I have two neighbors and relatives that would be more than happy to babysit my dog. He has been to all their houses many times and enjoys being there. But - I never go anyplace - so what can I say! Carol Jean |
Me and my boyfriend are into camping big time we have a trailer tent just like this one http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Conway-Trailer...QQcmdZViewItem so we go camping every weekend in the summer and I can not wait to take Smudger with us. Haven't got a clue what we would do with him if we go abroad in the summer for 2 weeks like we do every year??? Everyone in my family has dogs except my auntie and she's not really a dog person IYKWIM lol Would never ever take him to a boarding kennel though. Would probably have to get one of my sisters or friends to come and stay here with him maybe :) :) |
Well, my yorkie is a service dog, so he can go anywhere. However, if he couldn't we'd probably leave him with family or friends. :) |
Always I always take Mason with me..Id miss him to much!!! |

Do you live near Toronto or no? |
Yes about two hours away from Toronto!! |
My daughter BEGS to keep Rowdy - she always says, "When is Rowdy coming for a sleepover?" But we rarely leave him - when we have to though - we leave him with her. She has a cocker spaniel, a boston terrier, a lab and a cat, so their house is pretty crowded. |
Skittles has gone to visit family with us from the very beginning. She has never been left anywhere. Even when my mom visits she brings her dog, Feeberz. Heck my grandmother will go to my moms and pick her up while my mom is working so she doesnt have to be alone all day! Even now with Gunner he'll go...maybe not to my dads tho, he isnt much on animals unless he is mounting them(taxidermists, lol). Before Gunner when we made our 1st trip to my dads I asked him if Skittles could come, becuz if she couldnt well then we werent coming to visit and we'd just see them next time they came down. They are my furkids! Just love 'em to pieces. :aimeeyork |
I'm lucky that I have my best friend live less than a mile away from me and my family is here so if we have to leave the babies behind, they are in great hands! But they go almost everywhere with us except when we travel to baseball tournaments (my youngest has been playing tournament ball since he was 8 - will be 13 next month). I don't want to risk their health out at a hot baseball field and most hotels won't allow pets so they stay behind and get pampered by others for the week-end:) |
