new member 2 Attachment(s) howdy folks, im trying to introduce myself and test to see if i can post yet. im kinda new to forums so plz bear with me as i learn heh. im the proud daddy of stitch, who i recently learned is an abnormal yorkie. she is 36lbs and me not knowing much about small dogs plus having only ever having large breeds, seemed ok, till a mention was made that she had to have genetic problems. i flipped out n after a bit found my way here where i found out tho rare 20 and 30lb yorkies arent unheard of. i want to thank those who responded etc. i dont know much about small dogs, but i do know a bit about training animals. WOOOT its a good day to be me, i think i found how to attach pics finally. hope this works....shawn YAY it worked mostly, many of them exceeded size limit, just means i gotta transfer pics to my phone that will fit lol. i really wanted to upload the baby pics when she was black and tan, now shes blue n tan but i keep her shaved so she dont trip over her hair and stays cool in summer. feel like i achieved something here gettin them photos attached lol, not sure what but ill take it as a win heh. |
woot it worked, i can finally post heh. ill get some better pics of her, i mainly chose those 2 as im limited on choices on my cell and they best showed her size. |
A win is a win! Enjoy the forum! Hooah Doggie! |
yup lol she claims my bed at all times lmao, she tolerates her humans, so long as she has sausages and we make her breakfast on time she allows us to have a peaceful day, do it not and shes gonna make life suck till she feels we have been fairly punished and wont do so again lol. |

ive never seen so much personality and intelligence in any dog b4. i knew about teacup dogs b4 i got stitch n figured my sisters pups(stitches parents) were that, and stitch just wasnt a teacup, but then my sister came to visit a couple months ago and freaked. i dont think ill ever be able to have any other breed now. and to think i made fun of my sister for owning em, now i thank her all the time. |
In my excitement of finally being able to post a new topic, i forgot the main reason for joining heh. My pup stitch is a full blooded yorkie, my sister owns both of her parents and got both from highly respected breeders. And i know how ludacris it sounds but stitch is 36.5lbs 4 months ago at last vet visit. Soes anyone on here know of any genetic disorders that may cause this, like gigantism in humans. I got some reassurance by asking in older posts about mutant yorkies, but i figure maybe more ppl would see the question here. Thanks to any help or info yall can add. Now that i know other ppl own 20-30lb yorkies im not flipping out so much but still it never hurts to ask.....shawn |
Nice ta meetcha! I'm happy to meet you! I am new not only to this forum, but have never understood forums, threads etc myself very well. So lets get this party started and learn about our babies AND forum use!! WOOT! And yes, your baby should be quite normal, I wouldn't worry about genetic difficulties, this size yorkie is unusual, but by no means uncommon. If s/he were to suddenly gain weight, haircolor change, etc or you noticed anything drastic that didn't seem like a health issue, then i would advise seeing what type of tests could be ran. your baby should be just fine!:aimeeyork:thumbup: |
Hi Shawn, well I see you figured out the threads lol. stitch is a lil / big cutie, I love her coloring. Your poor sister, lol, seeing what her babies produced, just to funny. Welcome to YT . |
2 Attachment(s) Hi loki, and yup matese my sister is a lil bit upset, see i teased her big time about "yap dogs" how they couldnt protect or hunt etc, just being the mean older brother lol. In my defence ive never had anythong smaller than 90-100lbs for a dog until stitch, so my sis in revenge gave my daughter stitch who was the runt of the litter. We had to take stitch home early, our visit there was ending when stitch was 3 weeks old, so we weaned her ourselves. But at about 2 months she just started growing fast, my sister now wants her back lol. She likes medium dogs and loves yorkies so she didnt like how it backfired lol. The weird thing is all the other puppies shes had are normal 7-8lbs for a couple but most r less than 5lbs except stitch, so now all i hear is what did u really feed her or what was in them bottles lol. I added 2 pics of her b4 she turned blue. I cant seem to crop the ones of her when she was small to below 200kb. Plus when her hair was super long b4 her first shave, it almost drug the ground, but she was always hot n panting n couldnt run well, OMG she was so happy after the shaving n i was soo sad. Ill try n get some photos this weekend. G'night folks and its nice to have found a place where folks luv their pups like i do mine. Shes my 2nd kid lol. |
Hi and welcome to YT! :) |
Hi, I think you mentioned before about wanting to know why your pup was so big? From looking at the pictures from when Stitch was older (the white picture) and the pictures when she was a pup, it looks like she may be a mix, which could explain the sudden weight gain. Either way, Stitch is a total cutie. Welcome to YT!!! :) |
Yesterday i would have said no way on being mixxed, but earlier i read a older post where someone bought a yorkie pup from a breeder and it turned out to be mixxed and they got half their money back. Stitchs parents were both bought from good breeders, and she looks almost exactly like her momma just bigger. Her momma is long silky haired as well, just i keep stitchy shaved. Its no biggy im gonna love the heck outta the aggrevating mongrel either way but i am curious now. I wonder if theyd do a dna test if i sent in her papers to register her. At xmas ill try n get pics of her sitting beside her mom n pop, lol her head is almost bigger than either of them lol, but i may get a new puppy, missy went into heat early n my sister may not have seperated them soon enough. If so n i get another giant i dont think my sister will allow me to survive heh. Hope yall r having a great day, time for me n stitch to go sit in the hunting blind n me freeze n her be all happy. She loves the cold n u cant keep her out of snow, but she wants to play in the woods everyday all year long lol....shawn |
YAY another safe return for the mighty hunter stitch and her human sidekick heh, we seen 3 very beautiful deer, one was a young white yearling, hoping its piebald, but will get great photos of it if its albino. She sat perfectly still in her camo seat and watched intently. She didnt even lose control when the squirrell began barking at us, altho she was quivering on that one lol. Thank god no foxxes this time, she was beside herself on that so filled the area around the pond with coyote and wolf urine scent. Nomore foxxes yet :-) now shes sleeping with a belly full of homemade lean sausage, her favorite snack besides pupperoni and they r about tied. Now i could use a bit of help, when she was smaller, i had an outfit made for her n she was sergeant stitch, complete with paw cover (just over the top no sole on the bottom) little combat boots, a little BDU/ACU (army uniform, not Class A's) one in dessert digital one in jungle green, and the jungle set even had a little flak jacket, then of course her dog tags. Now im thinking a full hunting get up lol. But with her fur should i go without insultation on the coveralls and little hiking boot paw covers? She was a hit at wounded warrior events back in 2012, and it was their idea to make her a hunting companion, she just sits in the blind n helps watch, most my videos r from her seeing it first. Any ideas would be great....thanks folks Ps i texted my sister, shes going to send pics of stitch to both breeders and kinda mention a dna test to prove something n see if either admit one of her pups arent full blooded, tho they r both registered. She said she thought it but dismissed it. All her littermates r normal sized well mostly, they r all under 10lbs. Only 2 r above 5lbs. And they got their papers. Its not a huge deal she doesnt sell puppies, she makes sure they have a great home, gives them away n then checks on them for the first year. Mainly its to older ppl who have lost a pet, she calls vets n they refer her unless friends or family wants them. Shes only ever had to repossess one, and the lady brought it back due to illness and inability to care for him, sis offered to bring food etc to her, but he found a great home with a family who adores him heh. Anyways once she finds out the pedigree ill post it, now if i could just get stitchy to stop chasing the goats n harrassing our horses she will be perfect for us lol. Tater Tot, (my daughters paint quarter horse) n stitch play n the older mares get testy) enjoy ur evening folks, 4am is coming fast n stitch will be waking me up to go hunting lol. |
Here's a test kit I found online: Wisdom Panel 2.0 DNA Test Kit |
Thank u so much, alrdy got it ordered, we had to do dna on my daughters horse recently, the breeder was abusing the pedigree papers. Thankfully our tested to the proper dam and sire. But several people got ripped of badly, and they paid more. With my pup i dont care much, but with the horse going from 12k value to 600 had to be painful. Cheyennes mare turned out to be one of 2 that had proper dna. The breeders mother was well known and respected, when she passed her daughter just tried to cash in, sadly the other mare died due to birthing issues and the owners lost both, the sire of Tater tot had to be put down, and the dam is now too old to breed. After all those years of work on her moms part only 1 viable offspring remains. Tater just turned 3, and training for barrel racing is almost complete. But in a year maybe 2 cheyenne will have her first baby horse. The American Paint Horse Assoc and American Quarter Horse Assoc. Both helped me with the DNA and dual registering her. I got lucky on her, was at the police station filing a report when a lady was brought in, she hollered anyone who helps me bond out ill sell them a paint with dash for cash (famous paint stud) ratchett(mega huge earnings champion stud) sassy ariel and 3 triple crown winning thorough breds in her pedigree. I spent the 400 once she signed an agreement n blam went to see my new baby n get the registration papers. Turns out that yearling was the only legitly bred animal there besides the 15+yr old horses. Can i post pics of other pets on here?? If so ill post some of stitches best bud lol. G'Night folks, hope everyone has a great evening....shawn |
Welcome to Yorkie Talk! It sounds like you have a character in Stitch! This dog will keep you on your toes. Lol! What a nice looking pup also! |

WOW ok very eventful hunt for me n the mighty stitch this evening, we put out a bunch of grain, some peanut butter n maple syrup licks, and homemade oat/mollasses/peanut butter bars and a new vitamin bar we make out of prenatal vitamins for the pregnant does. We got our cameras rdy, had been sitting there for maybe 45 mins n she perks up, i hear something coming at us slowly n get rdy to ahoot some photos, and then BLAM around the tree pokes the head of the biggest south carolina black bear i ever done seen lol. I immediately told stitch shhhh still, her command for quiet and dont move, grabbed my 44 mag rifle (i bring it for just this reason) and then said howdy bear letting it know im there, aince we were in a camo pop up blind i didnt want to surprise it. Im not joking when i said "howdy bear" stitchy looked at me like i was the biggest idiot shed ever seen lol. We began backing away and it went to watching us n eating all the deer snacks, once we were 50 yards away i snapped a few more pics. Its the firat time she seen a bear and i think shes of my opinion its better to not see them lmao. I gotta say she did extremely well during the encounter, she made no moves to provoke the bear, stayed at my side, and everyone went their own way happy n the bear with a belly full of yummy goodness lol. but for a moment i was worried the bear was gonna force me to shoot it, i just calmly kept talking softly and we backed outta there. I told stitchy that the mighty hunters just ran into a mightier hunter, but we got our photo shots anyways heh. nothing else to report, gonna get things rdy for tomorrow mornings hunt, im hoping to get a pic of a beautiful honey brown n pure white piebald yearling. Ill post a pic if we capture one. I hope everyones enjoying their evening....shawn Ps....can i post wildlife pics on here?? |
When I looked at the baby pics. It looks to me he may be mixed. The face in the older pics looks like my maltese. Do you think an old blood line resurfaced? |
Ok got the intel from my sister, her female was bought from Yorkeis Playhouse in MO, her baby boy was bought from BluMoon Yorkies kennel in MO as well... Shes gonna contact both with photos of stitch and her abnormal size, plus if u knew her, shes more protective over her pups than she is about her 2 sons lol...theres just noway another male bred missy, the dogs are never outta her sight unless they are in their basement. She converted her basement into a fun house for the dogs. Too many dangers in rural MO to allow them outside without supervision. Im hoping the DNA test comes in soon.. Thelittleyorkie - in the photos it looks like her face is white, but its actually a light creamy beige/tan. My sister has had 3 or 4 other normal puppies with the same coloring, im gonna let stitch start growing out for winter, i normally shave n cut her hair once in oct then let it grow out till spring warms us up, this is her first year for a southern winter, might have to take a trip north so she gets her snow time, that dog loves snow more than anything, ifs the only time she howls nonstop to go outside, and i mean HOWLS, all, "Daddy daddy hey daddy uhhh its snowing, why we not in the snow, take me out or im never gonna shut up lmao!!" Is it a yorkie trait to love snow?? She actually burrows in snow, little tunnels and suddenly a head pops ip looks around n then its gone again, then a sudden explosion n magically shes standing on top again grinning, or she lays down n demands we play bury the pup lol, but its better than playing fill in the 20 new holes in the yard which is more uhh daddy i been bad, fix it lmao. But good morning folks, hope yall have a good one, its time to suit up n take her out to the blind, its a balmy 40 degrees so shes gonna be happy......praying for no bears today heh......shawn |
Wow! 36 pounds is a big boy! I'm enjoying the photo hunting updates. |
Hello and Welcome! Your baby looks poodle-yokie esqu to me. |
Decently quiet hunt this morning, stitchy and i watched a young doe playing in the leaves, something weve never seen, and a button buck trying his best to make a scrape, like he was the dominant buck of the area, he just couldnt hardly reach the branch he had decided to mark, i wound up in tears watching that i was laughing so hard. We got bored early and came home and of course stitchy got her sausages...elk summer sausage as a bonus treat...after she finished she licked my hands till she was sure every morsel of flavor was hers, then guarded the fridge. Everytime the fridge opens she now does her treat dance and does her best to be adorable, shes managed to get almost half the roll so far lmao. Then we ordered ostrich meat, since her favorite food is anything that flies, we r gonna try that, im betting daddy wont like it but stitchy will lmao. I got the pics from the bear encounter on my phone but it wont let me add them, when the kod gets home ill text em to her then ill post them.....shawn |

Alot of folks back home in MO speak very highly about them, especially around the southwest of the state (springfield joplin branson area), i do know after the heart ache my momma went thru with her first chihuahua (spelling) my sister got very selective about pure breds, we all pitched in and bought spud, he turned out to be inbred and cost a huge amount in vet bills, he sadly died at just under 2 years old, so then my sisters did their homework and we searched for a spud look alike, and found snickers. Due to it being a professional kennel rather than a craigslist add, snickers has been with her for 6 years. I didnt meet the folks she got her puppies from heck it was her 3rd set of puppies, a complete accident, she only wanted 1 litter and all the other litters r normal, even stitches litter mates. But several of them have the exact same appearance n coloring just smaller versions. Ill have her get pics of as many of em as she can. The white on stitches face in the pics is actually beige, or creamy tan lol im not good with colors i tried taking more pics but it keeps looking white heh. Also if i emailed better pics to someone could they help me resize them? Now for hunting update, it was a bust, stitchy the mighty hunter ran me outta the blind, the evil child of mine fed her bad foods this morning and lemme just say, being stuck in a tent like structure with a puppy that has gas, the scent of which singes nose hairs and sends anything with 300 yards fleeing for its life totally sucked. Stitchy is sleeping with the kid tonight lmao....shawn |
The adventures of stitch the mighty hunter were cancelled this morning due to absolute fear lol. Due to yesterdays episode of Gas, and my immediate education upon the affects of foul odors in tiny confined barely ventillated spaces, as such due to fear of history repeating itself we abandoned our quest to capture a photo of the elusive piebald yearling...for the day at least, but she was given her customary sausages, that was sufficient to negate her objections. Let me just say it was nice to sleep past 4am for a change heh. Hope everyones having a great morning....shawn n stitchy |
4 Attachment(s) Woot the facebook idea worked, pics are resized heh. I can finally load up some, and we got a pic of the famed piebald today, shes so tiny, im gonna put out some sweet feed n corn for her all winter. Alrdy informed everyone shes a free roaming pet, that way someone doesnt shoot her as its deer season here. Dont get me wrong ill hint for food, i just dont like folks who hunt for trophies and dont consume anything they kill, thatd be the only reason someone killed her, and since shes only staying by my pond and the neighbors goat stalls shes nice n safe till shes grown up n moves on next year. Stitch is too busy at the moment to post about, shes super mad i went hunting alone, i mean wouldnt even come outta the kids room for dinner dont pet me grrrr i dont like u mad heh. Ill post tomorrow if she decides to luv me again n wakes me up for hunting, shes gonna be really hot this weekend, ive got a wounded warrior hunt to attend, while she can come he cant attend the actual hunt, so yup shes gonna have a fit heh, heres a couple pics of me and her, the bear, the piebald deer, hope yall enjoy them, btw is anyone enjoying the hunting adventure story posts?? If so ill continue them as the season goes, for me its just as much fun and challenge to shoot a picture of an awesome deer as it is with a rifle. Plus i cant take stitch if i intend to use a firearm, she sound hurts her ears....well hope everyone is having a great evening.....shawn n stitch |
2 Attachment(s) I forgot the bear lmao....i cant seem to get the photos of my tank chair below 350kb, even using facebook n cropping. Most of my best pics im using that chair. Its how i get thru the woods its got tank tracks rather than wheels heh....ill keep trying ... shawn |
