| Pee on pad, poop on floor? I know my little Bruiser AKA Noni, is not potty trained, but he is absolutely amazing when it comes to peeing on the pad. Love not having to mop up after him. But when he poops, he does it on the floor by the bathroom(in a short hallway off the kitchen). I tried to get smart thinking that maybe it is a privacy thing, so I put a pad on his pooping spot. Not so smart after all, he is still pooping back there, but now closer to the bathroom, completely off the pad. Is there some mysterious aversion to pooping on a pad that I don't know about?

| Winnie is the same way...pees on pad poo on floor. I've tried putting the poop on the pad....she's hit it once....all other times are in front of the couch. No idea why. I've scrubbed it every time....she is mostly outside trained but we keep a pad in case someone misses her subtle tell of needing to go out. |

| Put his poo on the pad. I also would keep him in a confined smaller area unless you can fully watch him and then you can see him doing it and move him to the pad to finish.

| Sometimes dogs do the circle thing when they are pooing. That is they feel the need to move around while they are going. If he has the least bit of problem getting the poo out, like being a bit constipated, he will take longer to get it out and being moving around while he does it. Try not to make him feel bad after he has done this or he will try to hide it every time he goes. Just work on things that will help him. If at all possible you might try taking him out for a brisk walk to do his pooing or feed him something that will loosen up the stool so it is easier to get out. Walking helps stimulate the bowels so they can go faster and easier. |

| Yep Zoey does this too but I found by using odoban on their forbidden areas helps kill their scent there and she's more apt to stay on pad... |

| My Addy does this. She will pee on her pad 100% and poop right beside it on the bathroom floor 100%. She is five years old and I have tried putting the poop on the pad, but she will not poop on the pad. After trying for years to change her behavior I have given up and just pick up the poop and clean the tile floor with Out from Walmart. |

YT 500 Club Member | Sammie will pee and poo on the pad when I have him confined to the kitchen. But if he has the run of the house when I am home he will always poop on my dining room rug. I will take him out in the morning and If I don't have him out long enough he will come in and poop on the rug. Even though I have the door open and he could run back outside he will not!! He is a stinker!! |

Donating YT 2000 Club Member | I have a " Miss Poop Where I Want" that lives in our house! They will pee on the pad almost 100% of the time, but the pooping is on the rug in front of the couch by one of them. I have put a pad there & she will go next to it. We just pick it up & go on with our day - the little one that is 1 yr 9months is better at pad pottying then the 5 year old.

| Billi does this thing when she's pooping where she "walks it out." She almost always starts on her potty patch, but she walks when she's pooping and it ends up a foot, sometime's more away from the patch. I can't get mad cuz I know she started there and sometime's she manages to keep it on the patch. He could be walking his lil poops out

| Is the pad kept somewhat clean, not too peed up? I noticed this a few times when we first got Ginger, she would get to a edge and poo, some times it would fall outside the pad holder area. Pooing is a more panicky deal then peeing, old dog instincts kick in, more at risk to predator's/aggression when committed to pooing. Now that we have the Piddle pad she hits on the green every time, but once in a while has a hang fire. We trained her to get us after a "Two" for a Butt check. She takes the Butt Check serious and will bark if we don't notice what she wants right away, lol. |

| Two pups brother and sister. HELP!!!! So we have 2 lil boogers.....now ten months old! They are very smart and learn pretty fast but this potty training seems to be a lil hair pulling (me pulling mine) might I add. They do well on the pad, when confined, however they will pass the pad up every time when out. I'm sure they are aware of the pad and its purpose but, it's wearing us out trying to allow them to bond with us and and clean up behind them as well, with two you can't tell who did what. Now that it's getting cold out and they are used to playing on the deck, during the day, they poop and pee out there. We've attempted to take them outside on a schedule but one will go (the boy) and the other will not (the girl) ....I know I'm confusing myself. Two pups two personalities. Can anyone read into what I'm saying???? |

| I'm glad I'm not alone with this subject! I've noticed that Teddy doesn't want to poop on his pad either. He will run to it and pee if he needs too but he will try and run to poop anywhere else. Lola so far has had no issues peeing and pooping on her pads. I'm also in the same boat as you LadyLee. Teddy and Lola are littermates and today we took them out together for the first time and they distract each other or one will be focused on sniffing around to potty and the other will sit around and play (while on leashes) I see tough potty training coming in my future. |

YT 500 Club Member | Mine is opposite. Izzy poops outside religiously now that we built her an enclosed outdoor pen that she goes out through the window to. But she refuses to pee on a pad or outside. Now we have our sumo yorkie, Toby, who pees on the pads and poops on the stairs. You'd think they'd agree upon a method and mimic each other one way or another... But no. I think they have too much time on their hands and dream up ways to make smoke come out of our ears for the pure entertainment factor in it. Oh well. |

| I find it interesting that other yorkies have the same behavior as Addy when it comes to potty habits. I am not alone. |
