Teddy sure looks all yorkie to me. He's also a cutie pie!! |
4 Attachment(s) Teddy is an adorable little cutie pie. :D The Yorkie coat can take up to three or maybe a little more years to mature, as I understand it, and Brody's color certainly took about three years to become the color it is today. It was a very gradual change. I got Brody when he was 14 months old. Here he is just after I got him, in outdoor daylight, shade and sun... Attachment 401654 Attachment 401655 and this past February at almost 4 years old, in indoor (evening) lighting. Attachment 401656 The silver became a super pale blond, then his silky hair grew into a beautiful golden color. Mia was born black and tan, then lost all her black before I got her...she and Brody were both 17 months old at that time. Her hair eventually changed to a slightly deeper, beautiful golden color, about the same shade as Brody's...and about the same time, and stayed golden, of course...a color fault, but it was very interesting watching their colors change. :D Attachment 401657 Note: Differences in lighting (including camera flash) make their colors look different in the pictures, but in the same light, my Yorkie kids really are all three about the same golden color. |
he is absolutely beautiful ;) |
3 Attachment(s) Both Magnus & Zoey. Magnus is 4 years old (going on 5) and now his back is turning slightly dark brownish. Zoey head.. she looks like a bleached blood outside but more gold when she's indoors. I can't say for everyone but for my two, their color seems to change just slightly even still. He looks Yorkie to me. Your Yorkie is beautiful. One of the hardest things to get is the perfect coat. The color, texture, and length is prime importance in a show dog, but not so important for a pet. |
He's a gorgeous boy! My male's coat didn't finish changing until he was about 5. I still notice he gets a lighter during the summer due to the sun. |

He is beautiful and looks 100% yorkie. |
I see an adorable little yorkie. He'll change colors as he matures. As for silk or cotton coat would not let it bother me... |

Your Teddy is adorable and he had a beautiful granddad!! I had a card with his grandpas picture on it once and his top knot was braided and was about a foot long down his back. Such a pretty boy so if the genetics have come to your little Teddy he may even resemble grandpa. I'm also waiting to see if my latest baby girl will resemble her grandpa!! No matter we have the sweetest babies to love.:) |
My mistake found the picture was not Mystique but another beautiful Ozmillion yorkie out of kennel -Polanerduin. So soooorrry! |
Hi all! Thank you all so much for your comments and pics! Your personal experiences have resulted in a new perspective for me with respect to Teddy's appearance. Unwittingly (and perhaps unfairly), I find that I always compare him to my other Yorkies and worry because he doesn't look like they did due to his fur type and coloring. I think my doubts are due also, in part, to some of the things the breeder said which really made me feel ill at ease despite 13 months of continuous research with respect to UK breeders. Thanks again so much for all your advice and putting me at ease. You're all stars x |
Well, what can I say? I think the consensus is he's a beauty and all yorkie. Love his colors but I am sure they will change again! That's what yorkies do... |
