| ![]() And further looking into his family tree I can see his other grand dad Durrer’s Preferred Stock is also from USA, so Watti is even more American than I thought ![]() If anyone in YT has Yorkies that you know are related to these dog’s I would be very interested to see pics and/or read blogs about Watti’s cousins. |

I can now see that you can really do almost everything with little dogs as well – they are not just for sitting on your lap and looking pretty – they can do agility, obedience, dog dance, be therapy dogs… everything. Only thing is I’d feel safer taking a large dog to a late evening walk than a Yorkie, but luckily this is a pretty peaceful neighborhood. | |

| ![]() We didn't think we were "dog people" until we met Snoopy. We think of our two as tiny people in fur suits! ![]() Welcome!

| ![]() Welcome from Texas to you and Watti - such a cutie!!! haha. Most people eventually fall in love with a Yorkie in life, whether they want it to happen or not. I think it is just the best breed in the world for me. I hope you enjoy this website. Share lots of pictures of Watti as he grows.

| ![]() My little girl, Katie, has some Durrer in her pedigree. A lot of my breeder's dogs have Durrer. Katie has Durrer Preferred Stock also in her pedigree, but it's generations back. Katie was with her breeder until the age of three. Below are photos of Katie and her pedigree. CH Rigair Yabba Dabba Doo (Kate) Kate's pedigree. | ![]() Watti is coming home next week! And we had our first (but not last) doggy related blunder. Watti’s breeder lives about 150 miles from us and we don’t have a car so we are going to travel by train when we pick him up. When we first went to see him (also by train), we already bought train tickets for next week. Now we noticed we have accidentally thrown away the next week’s tickets with the used tickets. So we had to purchase new tickets. Just perfect ![]() It is about 2,5 hour train ride. Looks like it’s going to be a hot day so a bowl and some drinking water probably will be needed. Should I offer him some treats or is it better not to so he doesn't get motion sickness (I don’t know if dogs can actually get motion sickness in a train)? |

| ![]() How exciting ![]() Might want to take a jar or bottle with you to get some of the water he has been drinking at the breeders. On the train may not be a good time it introduce new water and food. Then you can introduce the water from where you live a little at a time. Take lots of pictures! We want to see them!

YT 2000 Club Donating Member | ![]() Rule of thumb Water Always have with you. I don't know Finland and the rules for dog travel on trains. But if you need to have him in a carrier, then line the carriers' bottom with some absorbent material, in case of potty accidents ![]() I would also try to get both the water and some kibble food he is used to in his breeders home to take with me. Also for accidents if he is allowed to be not in crate, some absorbent towels, we have something here called Sham Woo, and I love them. They dry quite quickly and pick up lots of liquid ![]() If he is not in a crate, here we strongly recommended harness and leads, not collars to walk your Yorkie with. You will need his measurements beforehand so you can likely, pick up a kitty harness that you can put on him, and select a leash to go with the harness. If it is going to be really really hot on that train ride, take one of your towels and run under cold water, and dab on his paws, under his groins to help to cool him down. Depending upon the health and weight of your Yorkie, we also recommend for young pups and pups 2lbs and under, some Nutrical to have on hand. You do need to understand what are the signs n symptoms of hypoglycemia, and how to intervene/help effectively. This is a supplement that helps to bring blood sugar levels up. I am so sorry, that you lost your tickets and had to purchase them yet again. Please when you get home safely post pics. And your English is very understandable!

| ![]() Thank you gemy. I have a carrier but the puppy is allowed to be on my lap in the train. Breeder is going to give me a full bag of the same kibble he has been eating at the breeder’s home. I have bought a kitty harness (it actually has text “Kitty cat” all over it, but I figured Watti can’t read so it doesn’t matter ![]() |

| ![]() Our little furbaby came home yesterday. He has grown so much since we last saw him! Our journey went quite OK - he slept most of it. Only time he whined a bit, was when a little Frenchie puppy came to sit close to us and I didn’t let him go meet the other pup. When we got home he was very playful and he investigated his new surroundings without any hesitation (trying his sharp little teeth on everything!). After an hour or so, he was still going like a Duracell bunny and we humans were completely exhausted! He also ate his kibble and used the paper we have put near the door. I don’t think he slept much at night, but he didn’t cry at all. I had placed his bed next to mine, but had to move him to my mother’s (she is retired and currently living with me) bedroom because he was chewing on some wires. Problem is that now that my mom lives here, my room is both bedroom and home office so I have wires and cables for two computers, printer, TV and a few other devices. I tried to hide as much of the wires as I could, but it is impossible to hide it all. I did spray the wires with a pet repellant (contains vinegar and other bad smelling/tasting stuff) but that didn’t even slow him down. Not sure what to try next. ![]() ![]() |
