Trixie sleeps at the foot of my bed, but she didn't start sleeping in there until she was prego and we stopped letting her and Flash sleep together. There's about a 50 pound weight difference in them and they play non-stop...we thought it would be best if they only played when watched closely considering Trixie's delicate condition. :p |
Jeanne & Jazzi I've only had Jazzi since before Christmas, she's 6 mo. old. Has slept with my husband and me since day 1. Had to take her outside to bthrm first few nights. Now, she sleeps all night. |
My two boys sleep with us in the bed. You know your husband loves you when he builds a custom king size bed low enough for the boys to jump up and down from! Previously he built stairs for them to use!! I read an article in a parenting magazine that said something like 60% of parents would rather sleep with their dogs than their children. (I can't remember the exact number.. but it was the majority) At first I was shocked by that statistic, but then I fell right into that group!! |
Tigger has slept with us since day one. We got him at ten weeks old, and for the first while he would wake up at four A.M. to be let out. Also my boyfriend(John) and I made an aggrement. If the dog moves or makes a sound at night we'd take him out. He now sleeps through out the night with out a problem (he's now seven months), which started at about two months of age. Yes, he's had a few accident's in bed. But John and I got smart. We put his bed between our pillows, got an industrial paper clip, clipped that to our headboard, and gave him enough slack to get to the end of his bed. He no longer does this, because he now sleeps through the night, but rather he gets between the down comforter and sheets and sleeps underneath the blankets curled up usually with John. As far as dominance goes... No issues here. Tigger's just bossy by nature. He's a spoiled child, and he knows it. and he's a total lap dog. If you don't let him on your lap, he'll bark at you and whine until you let him up. Then he just passes out. |
I have a bed full of furbabies, three yorkies and a chow-mix. They all have there special place on the bed. When I say lets go nite-nite they get to the bed before I do. Don't know what it would be like to sleep alone. |

Needs to be tossed right in the trash can. It is based on faulty science and wrong thinking of wolves in captivity not in the wild. Mine is in bed with me and does have issues around aggression. She does a sit or a down and then she earns the right to sleep in bed. It is more that I have control over resources as she is a resource guarder. She sleeps with me every night on a blanket made for her. Joy |
Of course, all 3 of them sleep with us, we wouldn't have it any other way. I love cuddling up with them LOL!!! |
My dogs always slept w me & my new Ava will sleep w me when she is a little older, she sleeps next to me now on her divan. |
Yes she sleeps with me and i have rolled over her a few times... Nothing happens to them.. |
Murphy has slept with me since the first night I got him. His favorite way to sleep is with his chin across my neck or stretched out on the pillow above my head. He has never pee'd in my bed. If he did I'd just put a belly band on him for the night ---just in case. The only problem is that now my other dog can't sleep on the bed and he wants to. Murphy won't go to sleep and wants to play with him all night and drives him crazy. I am hoping that when Murphy gets a little older, he'll let the other dog sleep too. Carol Jean PS: I got Murphy at 8 weeks - and he has slept 7 to 8 hours every night since the first night I got him. No lonesome puppy crying here! |
Chewy sleeps with us and he is fine. neither of us has ever rolled over on him. He's 10 months and has only been allowed to do it for the past 6 weeks. He was potty trained and everything before, but we always had him in his crate. Now I can't imagine not snuggling with him at night. |
I think my girls would kill me if I didn't let them sleep with me. Kali has my torso and likes to snuggle up tight to my chest (when it's cold, she wants to be under the doun) and Mare has my legs - on top of them or besides them, depending on the temperature in the room and my position. If it's really cold she like to lie on my cruch (sp?), that must be the warmest part of me :) |
I don't even have them in the same room I need total quiet to sleep and my male loves to scratch himself and my female licks herself at night time instead of sleeping and it drives me nuts. :p |
Baby sleeps with me. I don't like sleeping alone. :( |
I enjoyed reading how many of you sleep with your babies. Being a new Yorkie mommy, I wasn\'t sure if it was a good idea or not. I definitely love my snuggle time with Dolce and want more, but didn\'t know if it was the right thing to do or when the good time is. She\'s only 9 weeks old right now and still being housebroken, so I have her in a crate, but I definitely think I will be bringing her to bed with me once she is a little older. I can\'t wait! |
