"Chewing" when nothing is in her mouth + blood on toothbrush.. loose baby teeth? Since yesterday, I've noticed that Chloe has been "chewing" on the left side of her mouth when nothing is there. She has been doing it more often today so I thought maybe she has something stuck in her tooth so I brushed her teeth but I noticed a small amount of blood on the brush. She just turned 6 months, is this a sign of a loose baby tooth? |
Sounds like it. That's how it was when Cookie was losing her baby teeth at the same age. |
This means my baby is becoming a big girl now, lol. |
Yorkies are prone to baby teeth being retained. Any retained puppy teeth will need to be remove for proper oral health. Usually this is done during their spay. If they are not removed it can lead to bigger issues like adult tooth decay. All of mine had at least one baby tooth removed. |

Not only will bad teeth stink, but the bacteria that builds up will make the dog sick, esp if the dog is small. Another one of our fosters named Safari had such terrible teeth her mouth reeked of death. She finally had pretty much all her teeth removed. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/gen...ri-update.html |
