Sending prayer and hugs for your baby! When Cali was spayed she came home from the vet and plowed right into her toys and litter mates to play :D |
Yes my best wishes to you all. I'm agonizing over whether to have Crystal done, there are so many differing opinions. She's so happy and healthy and I just can't bear the feeling of her being frightened over something I've derived...:( |
have no fear spaying is a simple procedure. I know it is scary to have our babies go through this, it was for me, You will be AMAZED at how fast they recover, She will be a lil quiet when she comes home, by tomorrow she will be zooming around the house like nothing ever happened lol, you did the best & healthiest thing for her, Because my babies were babies, and I was scared to have them spayed, I didn't want them to "go under the knife" they were so young, just lil babies, 11 and 13 years later I paid for being over protective, they got Pyometica and died, Another dog I did not have spayed, 13 yrs later she died of breast cancer, the next 2 I got, I closed my heart to my fear, I lost 3 dogs for not being spayed, even tho I didn't want to leave them, off they went for their spaying, no cancerous tumors, no Pyometica , One passed in 2005, heart attack, my last female I had to put down 10/1/20103 at 16 y/o she had Pancreatitis. I encourage everyone I know to spay and neuter if you are not going to breed them. Thank you for having the strength and making the right decision to spay. Spaying does not alter their personalities as some ppl think, they are quirky, playful, fearless, little clowns, spaying does not take this away from them, You have made your lil girl healthy for years down the road, God bless you & your hubby, |

She will be frightened for a short time, but healthy for years to come. My first dog I did not have spayed because I was like you, concerned my wee lil girl would be scared and confused mommy was not with her. Over the years she had many tumors removed, and I was responsible for the pain she went through, Be strong for the health of your baby, if you are not going to breed her, I beg you to spay, you will give her years of a much healthier life. Consult your vet for the best age to spay. I pray you do what is best for your little girl. |
Best wishes that all goes well with her surgery. I know how awful that waiting is, but you will feel so much better when you get the call from your vet and even better once she is home. |
Thank you all for the kind words..i feel a wee bit better..i just cant wait to get the call already to pick her little furbutt up.:D. I know i made the right choice to spay her..even though she just turned 4 yrs old...please phone ring already |
I hope your little girl is doing well and is on her way home. |

Anyway I hope you have good news about your baby girl by now. You'll be surprised how quickly she'll recover. She'll be back to her old Yorkie self bouncing off the walls in no time.:D |
I know how difficult it is to go through this, but you art having her spayed to protect her from harm. The recuperation for older females is more than it is for puppies, but your little girl is going to be fine. She might act differently for a few days because of her surgery and pain medications, but she will act more like herself after that. My little girls always had internal stitches, but a baby onesie might help if there are visible stitches. |
The first day was rough for me. Cookie couldn't keep food down and just had the most pathetic look for about 30 minutes after I brought her home. She just stood there with her head hung low like she was trying to fight off the anesthesia. By the next day she was close to herself again, and by day 4 she was doing zoomies around the bedroom I kept her in (to keep her from jumping on furniture). Are you putting her in any clothes or a onesie to keep her away from the stitches. I got two preemie bathing suits from Family Dollar so she could wear one while I washed the other. They kept her mostly away from the stitches. |
Hope everything goes smoothly. You are doing the right thing! My little Leo is booked for the neuter in March (I can hardly wait! ... and neither can his big brother) :D |
Thanks again everyone for the kind words..the surgery went well..i picked her up and she was happy to see me..what a sigh of relief for me and for her...i wanted to know if anyone kept the collar on there baby..the vet said it should stay on at least 10-14 days..she looks uncomfortable..she cant even sleep good..what should i do..i feel bad for her. |
