Get two onesies so you can keep a clean one one her while the wash the other one. |

They sell soft collars if the one she came home with is a cone. I suggest keeping the cone on. I think us mom pets go through more trauma then our babies do lol, keeping that collar on is for her protection & safety, she will bang into everything, but she will be safe, or buy the soft collar, its not bulky like the cone, and keeps her away from the surgery. I am so happy she is home, you are now at peace. I didn't know she was 4 y/o, it was not in your first posting. She may be on the quiet side for a day or 2, then she'll be flying around the house, you will have to watch she does not jump on & off the furniture. It's amazing how fast they recover. |

I didn't have to use one, but a onesie put on backwards should help a lot. The tail goes through the snap area. It might be a pain with pottying, though. I don't know how quickly you could get it, but I bought a soft collar from YT member Mom to Hotrod. She sells great soft collars. My little girl was three when she was spayed, and it took her longer to recuperate than my one year old or eight months old. After a few days, she did much better. I'm so glad all went well and you have her home with you. I used onesies on all my dogs, but I didn't put them on backwards. I just cut a hole for the tale and they worked well. They usually come in a package of 3 so you can always have a clean one. Once she's recovered, you can cut off the bottom and she can wear it as a shirt. |
Im definetely going to try the onsies.the poor baby hardly slept all night..that collar drove her crazy..i had to take it off her this morning..so far so good...she hasnt tried to lick dow there yet. But i am still going to put a onsie on her just to be safe...she is a little spunky and a little mushy too..but thank god she is home...thanks all for your info and your concern xoxo |

I was really worried about my little girl, as well, but her recovery from the spay surgery has been steady. I kept onesies and a diaper on her--no cone--and she was comfortable. The incision is hardly noticeable now (although I can still feel the sutures under her skin) and she's returned to her normal, energetic behavior. I hope your little one's recovery is as smooth. :) |
