Food topics seem to always get heated lol. Some people get really kinda nutty about it. I wish my girl wasn't so darn picky because I would rather be feeding the Hills ideal balance but the little turkey would not eat it. I will never ever feed Purina though they are the makers of the waggin train chicken jerky that was linked to hundreds and hundreds of dog deaths and thousands or dogs getting sick and it took them many years to finally pull it sadly it is back now but I would never trust them if they will do that with there treats I can't imagine what they would do with there food. I also will not support them by buying any of there stuff. There also where stories of the Beneful food being linked to making dogs very sick. |

For anyone that is interested in some reading about pet foods.... a good site to check out is Truth About Pet Food: Truth about Pet Food Susan Thixton has done a lot of research into the pet food industry in general. While she does look at some individual brands she mostly deals with the large organizations and the FDA that make decisions about what is and is not acceptable for use as ingredients for pet food/feeds. There are places for comments after all of her articles and there are many people who are still trying to find the right commercial brand to feed. There are a variety of different ideas there just as here but Susan's findings in dealing with the industry are the most interesting and quite eye opening bits of info. |

For anyone interested in reading about pet foods, I highly recommend this website: PetDiets - VNC putting your pet's health first .. for more than 20 yrs! Dr. Remillard is great about answering questions on that website. |
My new 6 month old came to me on wellness puppy. Horribly dry flaky skin. My others are on RC and have wonderfully shiny hair and great skin. I'm in the process of swithching her to RC puppy, hopefully that and oatmeal baths will help. I've tried quite a few brands but canine caviare and RC are both mine and my dogs favorites. I've chosen to stick with RC because it's always available. |
