They actually said she was 4 months but when I looked at the paperwork and shot records from the vet she was 6 months. Even that was too big for them. Laying an the sofa with her asleep.on my lap with. all the rest of my babies all I can say is thanks. |

Piper is a lovely name! I like it, its quirky :) |
My boy Maverick was 4.5lbs at 16 weeks and was the biggest in the litter. My friend bought his brother who is actually 1/2 his size! I wouldn't want anything smaller than Mav though. My kids are super careful with him, but I searched many shelters and rescues who won't adopt yorkies of any size to families with kids because of their size. I'm lucky that we found a "bigger" guy who fits so well with our family! |
I'll be the first to admit that I thought teacup, micro, pocket book.. etc were real before I did some research. Chewie is 3 1/2 months and 5.5 lbs, probably 6 lbs by now. We took him to the vet on Monday and I was a little concerned that I might be over feeding him because he was 2 lbs when we first got him and that was a little over a month ago. I thought that was a lot of weight to gain in a month. The vet felt his torso and said he could probably gain a couple more pounds. So it looks like we're going to have a big Yorkie...and his ears are still down. I always thought bigger Yorkies with floppy ears were so adorable. We thought that he was going to be on the smaller side when we got him but we love him madly regardless of his size. :animal36 |
Congrats on you new little girl. I think yorkies are beautiful no matter what size they are. I do have two that are smaller, Laddy is 5lbs standard size and Kyra 3 on a good day. I do have to say with my back issues they are easier for me but we are very careful not to let them down around larger dogs and children who don't know them are NEVER allowed to pick them up. I would love them the same though if they weighed 20lbs each though. Who could not love a yorkie of any size. |
I always wanted a "Piper". I think she'll fit in with my brood well no matter what her size. Although I do feel like the "pied piper" most of the time. |
