Silkys don't normally like bows in their hair, or being dressed, but she will tolerate it. She doesn't give up when she puts her mind to something, like figuring out a way to get on the table, or in the trash. She is relentless. You definitely have to be on your toes and think one step ahead of them, because they are very smart little burgers, and will go back when you are not looking and keep trying. I LOVE that spunk about her, but I often say, some families would have given up on her if they didn't understand terrier triumph before choosing this breed. I will also say, she thrives on training. She LOVES learning new tricks, and she watches everything going on around her. When she get's it, she doesn't forget it. She is so so smart. I love this little girl. She has taught me a lot about myself too.
Here she is getting a hair cut. | Sounds a lot like Jackson! I think he could've been a really annoying dog in someone elses hands honestly. Ok, my dad thinks he's annoying in our hands LOL... but god he still loves him so much.
From what I've seen (videos, speaking to breeders, etc) the Silky is almost like a mini Border Collie except their terriers, which can sometimes be worse :p they don't quite have the same work ethic at Border Collies lol but all the brains which can be trouble!
I'm not even saying Jackson IS a Silky, but I can't explain it... there is something different about him from almost EVERY yorkie I've ever met. It's just the ... way he moves, and acts, and carries himself. I dunno. |
