Mortified  Im sooooooo angry. My dog came home from the groomers with 6 of 8 bleeding nipples. I had waited in the car while my husband ran in to get them. They have been to this place at last a dozen times and never once did I think this would happen there. We didnt notice the blood until we got home. I knew something wasnt right when my babies were acting differently on the car ride home. They were acting scared, shivering and crying. They dont normally act like that in the car. So I checked them out when we got home and found blood smeared on her abdomen and counted the cuts. I'm sooooooo disgusted right now. I want to hunt down that groomer, put a leash around her neck and let Edward Sissorhands loose on her. |
I would take photos and definitely be calling and complaining. |

Every time I see her licking her wounds and looks up at me looking like an ASPCA commercial--my blood just boils. If i dont get anywhere with a phone call, I'll expose her. I just want her to know what she did and apologize for torturing my dog. |
I wouldn't drop it. I had a Lhasa who had a small hernia that my vet didn't want to operate on until it got larger. I told the groomer about it and asked her to be careful trimming her underside. When I picked Muffin up, they had cut her where the hernia was. I was furious about it and they just flipped me off with "we can't watch for every little bump". I never went back there again. That is just plain cruelty if you ask me. |
Don't drop it. It's a big deal, especially 6 of 8???? One I might could see, and even then, they should have called the minute it happened. What happens if they get infected and she needs vet care?? When I call to complain, I'd make sure they know I'm taking her to a vet, getting documentation and they can pay the bill. That's animal cruelty, and you have to wonder what else they may be doing to animals?? |

That's awful, was it your regular groomer? My poodle had a similar problem with her warts when our former groomer replaced their regular employees with a bunch of teenagers. I hope you're able to do something about it. |
This happened to the larger of my 2 yorkies (although she is only 8 lbs) and I flipped out. I called and said I wanted my money back and I would never come back. I got a refund and the owner personally promised me she would be the only one grooming them from now on. My smaller yorkie got groomed today for the first time ever (at the same place) and I was extremely happy with it. I dont see a single razor burn, cut, rash, nothing. Just let them know....they need to know. Ask for the owner or manager. Sorry that happened to your baby....keep an eye on it and watch for infection. |

With social media, they better apologize. I sent a friend request to them on facebook. If they behave like jerks, I'll post a pic of my girl's tummy on their page and expose them. I'd really like to form a posse and go cut that groomers nipples. An eye for an eye...but who would raise my babies while im in jail?? When the barber cut my sons ear during a haircut...I didnt have this reaction LOL I would have if he cut him SIX times. |
I would do the same thing// I would not go back and I would take them to the vet and have them pay the vet bill |
Don't drop it! Pursue every angle available. I would be LIVID in the same circumstance!!! You are due not only an apology, but repeated assurances that the offending employee will be disciplined at least, if not fired! And, NEVER take your pet back there again. I have ONE lady that I trust with our Graysee, and she is a mobile groomer, has no employees, and treats our little one with care and respect and tenderness! |
Wow!! Poor baby, and you for being the momma who took your baby there. Sorry to hear:( I could see maybe one nick... but 6??? I sure hope that she heals up well and she forgets about this bad experience. I'd be hoppin' mad if that happened to me!!!!! I agree that the person should at the very least be disciplined... if not fired! Agreed that social media these days, they should do more than what you expect to make this right for you. Not sure what that would entail, as I would not using them again. I will be looking with interest on how this turns out for you. |
Wow I would definitely go into the place and show her the pictures. This is not acceptable. Good luck |

I'd name and shame on your own page too if you get anything other than a sincere apology |
I am sorry your poor baby had to go through this. I don't think there is much you can do about it since there are no laws or regulations that effect groomers. There should be cruelty laws in your area but I don't know if they would apply here....though it should!:( If it was a place that has multiple different people grooming the dogs it could be someone else got their hands on your little one this time or maybe someone was just in a hurry. I would have taken the dog right back and showed this to the manager and insisted on a refund. I also would have had a few other parting remarks including the fact that I would never return. |
Wow, 6-8 seems ridiculous! I would DEF complain... that's insane. I use a mobile groomer and have for over 2 years now. We had ONE time where he just had a really bad haircut and then I noticed a somewhat bad nick on the sensitive skin right by his back leg area. I was a little ticked off because I feel like he definitely probably yelped and she did not tell me about any mistake. Plus the way his face was trimmed was horrible and unlike her usual cut... I chalked it up to her having a bad day maybe. Hey, it happens. But I did email her nicely and sent her photos of his cut, and explained why I was unhappy. I went to another mobile groomer after that but was not thrilled with the haircut after I kept looking at him. Nobody ever cut as good as my first groomer (minus that one time) so I decided to give her another chance. She was very apologetic and offered a free groom the next time. She's never made a mistake again... and she always does a really great job so I'll continue going to her. |
I would contact the groomer and get your money back and never take them there again. I would also write a review on every review site you can. |
I would definitely speak with the owner, and see if they can try to make it right for you and your dog. 6 out of 8 nicks is just plain incredibly bad. I am so sorry your pup had to go through this. |
that is terrible, your poor babies, I would be pissed |
What's the update? How'd it go at the groomers? Are we going to pick up the picket signs? Customer comes first! 6 cuts is way out of line... |
I've emailed the owner to get any responses in writing. They were closed for new years and its given me some time to calm down. Day before last, i was ready to form a posse, hunt the groomer down and cut her nipples; although, that still wouldnt suffice cuz I'm assuming she only has 2 nipples...an eye for an eye (or nipple for nipple) wouldnt work in this case LOL j/k. I dont see this ending well. I read customer reviews on multiple websites and the groomer goes on and defends herself against previous complaints and calls people liars. She's got two complaints with the BBB. I'm never gonna trust that place again and have no intention on returning. I dont want a refund--it wont change what happened. Even an apology wouldnt change how I feel about what she did. I just wanted her to know what she did and advised her to take better care while clipping the dogs. If she replies....I'll let ya know. |
I'm usually very passive and say "I just won't ever go back again". But OMG! This isn't a simple matter of a bad haircut. If that groomer's THAT careless with someones loving pet than she needs to find another career. Pisses me off just thinking about it. Totally understand accidents/mistakes happen since I've accidently clipped my pups ears couple times. But she should at the VERY least let you know what happened and how she treated it. If you haven't already, I hope you left a bad review. Things like this is why I only take my two to the groomer maybe once a year... They don't look all "pretty" but at the very least, I know they're not going to be mistreated. |

I received an email response from the groomer. They requested photo (sent) and said they'd investigate and take appropriate action. I dont know how appropriate action can be taken when it was the owner who did it. Will she discipline herself?? I've never met the owner--I've only dealt with a male groomer. My husband told me she told him she was the owner when he dropped them off. If I hear back a response to the pic I sent, I'll let you know. |

I am pondering how someone, let alone a groomer can do this...could she have accidentally used a skip tooth blade. If it gets caught on the skin, it can cause some serious lacerations. Hope your baby girl will heal nicely & they reimburse you. It would be the correct thing to do, least they can do. |
