| Refusing to eat ? Hi, all ! I'm a little frustrated, because lately Kimberly hasn't been eating her food. I've been feeding her Nature's Recipe for a little less than a year now, and we've never had an issue. Like clockwork, we're up every morning at 5am to go outside. We come back, I feed her no later than 5:30, then I'm off to work. She eats again around 6pm, goes out by 7, and we do it all again the next day. For the past week or so, however, she hasn't really been touching her food. I'm on vacation from work, so naturally I haven't been waking up at 5 anymore. We get up now around 8 or 9, but when we get back in the house and I fill her bowl, she isn't the slightest bit interested. I even tried picking up the kibble and feeding it to her myself and all she does is spit it out. Late in the evening, she may finally eat about half of the bowl, but that's about it. She won't touch the rest. Could she be tired of eating the same thing every day ? I picked up a free sample of Merrick a few weeks ago when I took her to PetSmart to be vaccinated. I mixed a little bit of it in her bowl the other day and she tried diligently to eat only the Merrick, but eventually she gave up and just ate everything in the bowl. That was the only time she actually ate her food, though. The rest of her behaviors are all normal. She's still using the bathroom regularly, if I jump up to play with her, she plays. She seems a little more lethargic than usual, but then again this may be normal for her, since I'm usually not home during the day. |

| It is probably just the change in routine. Dogs are creatures of habit and routine so when it gets changed, their behavior changes. As long as she is eating enough to sustain her and not lose weight, I wouldn't worry too much. If you feel she needs to be eating more, though...try drizzling a little tad of chicken broth over her kibble. This may entice her to eat.

Donating YT 3000 Club Member | Hello and welcome to YT. Believe it or not but I am going through the same thing at the moment. Galen is turning up his nose at his food. He is eating Taste of the Wild Sierra. I tried different things to get him to eat . I think he is bored with the food. I got a sample of Fromm salmon., they did not have any of the TotW Pacific Stream (salmon) I added a little to the Sierra and he gobbled it up. So I am going tomorrow and picking up a 5lb bag of the TotW Pacific Stream. With TotW I can change the food flavor without slowing add. Good luck with getting Kimberly to eat
