Hello and welcome to YT. I am so sorry for your loss. No one will replace truffle but I hope he will help easy the pain of your loss. Please do not second guess what happen. She will be with you always hugs |
Im so sorry for your loss :( My 2nd yorkie passed away suddenly too. He was fine, then the next day he just seemed a bit off, but nothing that would be super concerning. That night he just wanted to cuddle, and he later passed away. There were no big warning signs. He was a terribly bred puppy mill yorkie so I'm just thankful we had him as long as we did A new puppy won't take away the pain of losing your girl, but it does help to give you something to be happy about |
THANK YOU so much for all of the responses! You all really moved me, and every day it helps a bit. Truffle will never ever ever be forgotten, but trying to focus on the good memories and not regrets about not being there for her at the end. A picture/memory book is definitely in the future (tried to post pictures here, but it keeps saying they are too big, will try to figure out how to make them take up less space to post). We brought home Thor Bob yesterday (our 8 year old had a huge say in the name). Puppy did nothing but cower under the kitchen table yesterday, shaking and looking unhappy. Today, so far, at least a tad more active. Ive cleaned up 3 pee and 2 poop misses, so at least the bodily functions seem to be going fine. Very hard to adjust to a new critter in the house, trying not to make comparisons, but so far the little dude isn't bringing it like Truffle. Patience, I know. Not my best quality. Breeder swears that in 3 days, we will be raving about our new family member. |
So sorry to hear about your sudden loss:( Happy to hear though that you have kept your big heart open for another to come in. Yes, it won't be like your Truffle, but new beginnings and a different personality will win another piece of your heart over. I'm sure that in short order Thor will get used to his new surroundings and will be giving you much joy, happiness and laughter. All the best to you and yours in 2014!! |
when we first got our current puppy in early December she was quite shy and nervous, cowered when we tried to pet her, and didn't show her true personality for a few days. After about a week she started crawling into my lap to snuggle, follow me around the house. Give it some time. :) |
