He used to go nuts with our door-knocker, so we've taken it away!!! If I want to know who's there, I peer out of the side-window (that's a sight to behold!!!!) :D Sally + Harry x |
Magnus/Zoey goes insane and runs for the door whenever they hear ANY type of doorbell. Doesn't matter if it's actually our doorbell or on TV. Oh.. and knocking. I was checking something on one of the walls and my two went running to the door like bats out of h*ll! Didn't see anyone at the door so they went to the back door. No one there... Went to the garage door. No one there... Went back to the front door. ROFL I'm just glad we don't have many visitors... |
That is a great idea, but Ian starts barking before anyone reaches the doorbell. That's a good thing.:) |

George goes crazy if some one knock on the door, opens the gate even and if its on TV its the same except he has a thing about the elevator "ding" as well so any programmes with elevators get muted. Now there is a particular advert jingle that gets him going so I have replayed it over and over to settle him down, When it come on now he just growls. So cute. Wow its lucky for him that he is cute too |

Yes mam . . it was pretty cool. I remember when my dad gave it to my mom for Christmas. So, if a new tone works for your pups, I wonder if a door bell would have the same effect on my pups and stop them from going nuts when there is a knock at the door. Just so happen I've had the whole set up sitting in my basement for about 8 years now. Might be about time to get it hooked up ! :) |
They go nuts for the doorbell and knocks. We has some religious people knocking on the door this morning. They started up when they got to the neighbor's house first, and then even worse when they got here. I can't stand those people. |

Mine too! Barney ignored doorbells until we brought Anna in. She hates doorbells. Now, they both go crazy every time they hear anything remotely doorbell sounding or any kind of knock. Every time ice falls in our icemaker, it starts a bark-a-thon. We enjoy Family Tie reruns, but EVERY episode has a doorbell. |
My older one goes nuts when he thinks someone is here....it can be a knock, a doorbell, or something he thinks sounds like a knock or a doorbell. If I say "Who is it", yet nobody knocks, he starts barking. My little one doesn't bark when people arrive. He reserves that for the squirrels and the cat. |
Wow, sounds like a great idea.... with just Jackson, it's easier to calm him down and get him settled but with all 3 kids over at my dads house, it's nearly impossible. This might be something worth looking into. I will send to my dad. |

We had religious people knocking on the door where I used to live. I then put up a sign on my door that read, 'No solicitors or religious orders, thank you :)'. It seemed to work very well, as never had another one knock. Might be an idea for you... can't hurt. |
