New member Hello, I am new to this forum. I do not as yet have a Yorkie or a Morkie. Would like to have either one, but have been looking for a year because I wish to adopt a pup who needs a home rather than buy from a breeder. I am looking for a female from 1 to 3 years old in the Denver, CO area. If you know of such a dog, please let me know. Nice to be here to hear about other people's yorkie or morkie experiences, as I have never had one, but am told since I'm allergic to most others that this is the one for me. I have always had large dogs in my life, but as I mentioned, as I got older I became allergic to most dogs. I never thought I would be a match for a small dog, but really miss having a pup in my life and am wanting to get to know a yorkie or a morkie (pictures of both have been pulling at my heart strings!). Thanks!

New Memeber Good Morning to all the Yorkie lovers out there. I am new to this forum and figured I would introduce myself. My name is Michele and I have a 5 month old yorkie named Izzy. She is the sweet little thing. I love this breed, I had one named Bailey for 11 years and in April I lost her. I was lost without her. I finally agreed it was time for me to get another one. I researched who to get my yorkie from and found a lovely lady named Glenda, she is a breeder and does it for the right reasons. All her yorkies are her children. My Izzy is so full of life.

Welcome! We have 3 Yorkies from an East Coast Rescue League: yorkierescueme.com They work with other rescue leagues (one of our dogs came from TN) and they may be able to refer you to a league in your area. They are very nice and thorough. I found one league in CO Welcome to RMYR - Rocky Mountain Yorkie Rescue Old dog or young dog, boy or girl...once you get that dog you will adore it no matter any imperfections. Our first Yorkie is a girl with diabetes, food and pollen allergies. She is the alpha and a crazy girl--so compliant that I can shave her tail and check her blood sugar level and she never complains. Our second is a girl who was a breeder at a puppy mill--she is a delight and the sweetest thing--she loves to be spoiled. Our third is a boy who was rescued in TN, where Yorkies are not that popular. He only has one eye due to a birth defect. He is a wonderful rascal who like to find the others treats when they go to get water and he hides them in the dog beds in other rooms of the house. I have pet allergies, so I would go over to PetSmart and ask people with dogs if I could rub my face on the dogs so see if I was allergic.
