do you feed your baby tablefood Do you feed your baby table food and if so id like some recipes please. I havent yet but honey is so cute when she begs her mama lol |
Tibbe used to be able to get a bite of something once in a while before he was diagnosed with MVD but that diagnosis stopped any human food bites from that point on. |
I never feed Callie from the table because it teaches them that if they beg they will get something. I occasionally give her green beans, peas, mango, strawberry, blue berry, banana, carrots, and some boiled chicken all at different times not all of that together. Treats should only make up 10% of there diet. |
My suggestion is to not feed your dog from the table. Yorkies are prone to pancreatitis. I found out the hard way. They can have some foods, think healthy. Nothing fatty or fried. Stick to veggies for treats. If you prefer not to feed them a dog food and prefer a home cooked diet, you should contact a nutritionist. |

If I'm eating yogurt or cottage cheese, I'll let the pups lick off the container when I'm finished. Or if I'm chopping up certain veggies, they each get a little piece of whatever it is. We also do little pieces of plain meat and scrambled eggs. We don't give anything that has been seasoned or fried and I don't feed them from my plate while I'm eating...they're pretty good about not begging for human food but they definitely enjoy the few morsels of "tablescraps" they get. |

Everyone I have known who has had dogs live to very ripe old ages has had one thing in common: absolutely no human food for the pup. |
I share everything I eat that isn't dangerous, but I hand out small bites so they aren't given so much that it interferes with their regular dry kibble meals. They are all very polite and take turns for their bites. I have them sit in a row and call out their name before I hand down the treat. If one gets too anxious and starts to beg or take someone else's treat, that dog misses a turn in the rotation. If I am eating something they can't have I don't make eye contact with the three sad faces and they go lay down. Begging is a bad behavior that is caused from lack of training - not because they are fed treats from the table. |

Lola gets some table food, but she has to behave. If she begs or barks she doesn't get anything. I usually give her meat, cheese, yogurt, veggies, cereal, and ice cream. I also use shredded cheese if I need to really motivate her to do something, like give up a bad item. She's happy with 2-3 thin shreds. Quote:
