Hi Wylie's Mom,
I've read your signature and been going over & over again cause I love famous quotes & sayings yet I've yet understood what it means. Is it just a play on the golden rule phrase or is it something meant to teach us something. I'm not quite sure what it's trying to achieve,..would you care to divulge please? :idontknow ~ How people treat you is their karma; how you react is yours | I'm happy to explain it. It's sorta like the golden rule, but sorta not too. This quote *always* reminds me of what happens here at YT, so often.
For example, if someone here treats you like crap -- they've then created their own crap karma to deal with. But YOUR 'karma' (or whatever you prefer to call it) comes from how you react to that crap -- if you react back in the same crappy way - you've now dove down into the muck and joined in the crap, creating your own crappy karma/energy. However if you take the high road instead, your 'karma' is clear, good, happy, pure....so, how you react is always your karma to own. In other words, you create your own reality by your reactions to others' actions, no matter how low others may stoop. You are always in charge of whether you allow others' actions to control YOUR reactions.
Does that make better sense? |
