Do you let your baby's sleep with you.? I would like to know everyones input on the subject. Yes or No or Sometimes Please let us know why or why not? Advice or Tips welcome.!! |
No. When I was a kid my brother accidentally killed our pug when he slipped under his blanket and got trapped. Cook has her own crate to sleep in. Minnie slept next to or on top of the couch. |
Yes, because dogs are pack animals and prefer to sleep touching or huddled near their pack. And I enjoy Tibbe's tiny snores, cuddles. Can't sleep without him. |
Lola has slept in my bed since I got her. The first 2 weeks she slept in an open, clear tote on my bed. After that she slept on a little dog bed on my bed, and now she sleeps on top of me or pressed against me. I highly recommend the snoozer scalloped steps, especially since the two you're getting are supposed to be tiny. Snoozer Scalloped Dog Steps and Ramp - Snoozer Aging Pet Products |
Yes, all 4 sleep with me, or maybe I should say I sleep with them in their nice big king size bed. They first started out sleeping in a play pen near my bed, until they could go through the night without peeing. After that they were welcomed into the big bed. I did not crate them, in the daytime they were in an ex-pen when unattended. For some people, there is a worry that they may fall off the bed and could get hurt, or that someone would roll over on them. This is more of a worry with tinies. It also depends on if you are a light sleeper, and do not like to be disturbed. I guess it is an individual decision. |
I was bed ridden ... well couch ridden when we got Holly .. she pretty much would not leave my side even when I got up to use the bathroom and she slept in her carry cast with blankies in there with the front flap open .... the first week I could not sleep at all so took her into the bathroom every 3 hours ... she learned to hold on all night pretty quick or to go use the bathroom pee pads on her own ... now 2 months down the track I've moved back to the bedroom .. I'm an absolute night owl so she sleeps on the floor, next to me on the couch, under the couch, al little bed at my feet or even sometimes on the window sill .... it varies pretty much every night .... then when its finally time for me to fall asleep she jumps up and gives me the look of "its about time" and off to bed we go .. she starts at the end of the bed chewing the same left over butcher bone that's been there for goodness knows how long and I fall asleep to crunching gnawing sounds :-) and then usually wake up in the morning with her pushed up against me or on the edge of my pillow .... :-) |
Absolutely yes ,,, my 3 share our bed ( kingsize as hubby 6ft lol) there is not a feeling like it ,, when I'm really tired or had a bad day ,, the first thought is !cant wait to snuggle up to the pups! They all have their spot on the bed lol sonny and gino under quilt at back of my knees and beau on the pillow in the middle of us lol sometimes if I'm feelin aggitated I wud go and sleep in spare room with Frazer (gsd) he loves me there to lol all spoilt pups . |
Yes, my pups mostly sleep with us. However, Piccolo usually leaves in the middle of the night and gets in her Cloud 9 bed. I think she gets too hot, but not sure. |
Of course I love them sleeping with me! I never thought I would. Piper could sleep anywhere but she prefers to be right at my head. Jilly will bark until she is in the bed. My husband said let them in so we can all get some rest! Hahaha! |
Yes, Annie's is sooo kind to allow me to sleep with her!! :D |
Dolly has slept with me since the night she came home with me at 12 weeks. Slept all night the first night and has never peed the bed |
Ah sleep, my long forgotten friend. Last night they roamed around in our bed. Anna jumped off a few times which led to us getting up, retrieving her, and putting her back to bed. Two trips outside for failed attempts at potty breaks, and one trip to the living room to allow her to get her favorite toy and she still was restless. Barney tried to sleep but every time Anna changed positions, he had to get up and bark to assist in the "emergency". Anna finally dozed off about 4 this morning, one hour before we had to get up. She is now resting peacefully by my feet. Well, we all share a bed. But I am not sure you can say we sleep in it after last night. Here's to hoping that tonight the pack will sleep together. Ok, I obviously am ranting about last night. However, on a typical night it is wonderful. Barney curls up by my belly and Anna curls up at the bottom of the bed. When our former yorkie, Charlie, was alive, he slept in a crate. I would do anything to go back in time and have him in our bed. |
Once he's a little older and can control his bladder a bit better most definitely he'll be able to sleep in our bed until then he sleeps in his crate or one of his beds |
yes, Morgan sleeps with us// he just cuddles right into my chest and that's where he sleeps |
Willow and Allie sleep with me. Luci who is too small, sleeps in her playpen. |
Yes. Bella and Milo have slept in my bed (literally under the sheets with us) since they were 10 weeks old.It all started because as a puppy, Milo would sleep right next to my side of the bed and spend the whole night just sitting there and pawing my hand every now and again. So one night I lifted him onto the bed (Bella follwed) and they´ve been there ever since. I don´t doubt that my new girls will end up there too...there´ll be 5 yorkies in our bed soon! lol. Edited to add: They have NEVER had a potty accident in bed. When they need to go, they get restless and wake us up, so we let them down, they go to their pad, and come back. |
Yes, Yes, Yes! 3 yorkies in our bed! They have all slept in the familly bed since the day they came home! Teeka sleeps under the quilt, Max, usually lays just under the sheet and Tatiana is my snuggle bug, who needs to be right up against me, all night long. I can't imagine not having them there with us! |
I have always let my dogs sleep with me. I am going to be getting a new baby in a month, and she will be in Momma's bed also. To barneysmommy-I wish that I could go back in time and have Dolly back. It has been 8 months since I lost Dolly, and I am still grieving, I will always miss her. |
Can't sleep without him snuggled up against me or laying on top of me. That's part of the point of having the little furbrat...uh...furbaby. Love love love... but just started a thread in pictures of my little hoarder getting for for bed  |
Only time they sleep with me is when I'm napping on the couch. Zoey usually sleeps by my foot or somewhere close to my body. Magnus.. depends on his mood. :) One of the reasons I didn't want them sleeping with me in my room simply b/c I was worried that I'd roll over them. The biggest reason is b/c I'm very sensitive so any movement/noise that's not from myself would wake me up. |
I would love it but she is small and I am afraid of her falling off my tall bed. She sleeps right next to my bed in her own comfy bed so I am able to still touch and talk to her and I know she will be safer. |
No, I like my space. My boys sleep in a play pen right next to my bed with their crate inside. |
Every night!!!!! My chihuahua also sleeps with us. Marilyn, I'm going to have to steal the term furbrat , it fits Bella perfectly. |
I've napped with Cherry on a small mattress on the floor, but she isn't allowed on our bed for two reasons: 1. I don't want her to fall off, as our bed is pretty high up, and 2. DH is a pretty sound sleeper, and he may crush her! |
Oh yes, she sleeps with me since the second night she came to live with me. Has foam stairs beside the bed if she needs to get down to get a drink. |
At first Billi slept in her own bed, in a pen next to my bed. Now that she's fully potty trained & able to get in and out of our bed with the ramp we made her, she sleeps in our bed with us. Usually at our feet, but now that it's getting colder, she's cuddling more. And I love it :p |
Yes! I cannot imagine not having them to cuddle with! |
Yes, Sophie Kate sleeps in the bed right next to me. When she was a baby she slept in her crate until she was able to hold her bladder until morning. (about 5 or 6 months). I now have a hard sleeping without her. |

Ours sleep with us too. They really like to snuggle at night too! They have slept on the bed with us since the day we brought them home as little puppies. |
