***What's Your Yorkie's Very Favorite Spot?***
 

It's no secret in this house. It's Tibbe's Grand Obsession. Tibbe ever lives to get to his favorite "spot". He will come up to kiss me, cuddle with me, play, etc., but is soon eyeing his spot. He angles for it at all times. Several times a day when I'm home and lolling about on the couch on the computer or watching TV, he'll come for his cuddle sessions and before you know it, he's in his spot and sighing in happiness. If I leave the room, he's gotten in his spot when I return. I don't mind he's got such a favorite spot in the world but it's oddly one where there is little room for him! Where is it?

His favorite place in the whole world to be is on whatever pillow I'm leaning on or sleeping on, either in the den on the couch or on the bed. He is happiest in the world to get to just the smallest amount of space that is left on the pillow that I'm using. I have large couch throw pillows and when leaning back or lying down watching TV, Tibbe is soon right there beside me on what is left of the pillow! Same in the bed. I mean my pillows are just normal-sized in the bedroom but he's got to share no matter. It's a very tight fit without much room for BOTH of us but he absolutely insists on being there. In order to fit well if my head is on the pillow, it means his butt is absolutely right up against my head/face. He's always trying to get there and so very determined he'll try it several times a day. When I'm sitting up on the couch or in bed and the pillows are angled upward to fit as support behind my back, this really presents a problem in that he has to mount up to the top edge of the pillow to place his body but he still does it - so determined is he to share the very spot I'm on no matter what! If I leave the room and come back, he's still there on his end of the pillow and struggles to stay there as I lie back against it and he doesn't give way without a fight. I get so hot sometimes in the summer I have to move him after a while which he does grudgingly but before you know it, he's baaaack. As long as I've had him, it's been this way - he's got to be sharing his end of my pillow or else.

I get so tickled at all his antics to try to fool me into moving over enough to give him space if I'm covering more than just one end of the pillow and he will even lay part of his behind up on my head to get on the pillow if I don't move over! He's walked across my face to get to his spot. Other times he will have to actually sleep with his bottom up on the upper edge of it and his upper body going down the pillow or vice-versa in order to fit on the space but he manages! It is just hilarious that it matters that much to him that he would go through what he does to get in his favorite spot. When he achieves it, he always lets out the biggest sigh in the world and at times will soon turn around and give me a little kind of "thank you" kiss, even though he almost falls off the pillow doing it. Then he has to re-position himself back on his part of the pillow and he watches TV or sleeps, happy as a clam! I've had many dogs in this house but never one so darned determined to share my pillow!!!!!!! Its an obsession I've never seen before.

What about you all? Do you have any babies that have an absolutely favorite spot they seem to love beyond measure and will do just about anything to get to and stay in it?

Last night, it was like 2 in the morning- I felt a scratch on my head- Mr Peanut wanted under the blankets. I let him in.. I was on my side, he comes under my arm and snuggles next to me, and places his little head on my hand.. I just love him, he is such a Momma's boy. I swear our bond grows daily.

My poodle was a pillow lover too. She just wanted to put her head on it though. Otherwise she'd lay in a curve of my body (stomach, behind knees, etc).

Lola wants to be on top of me or stretched out to her maximum length and pressed against me. Usually Lola sleeps on or between my legs. If I get a blanket it's like a magnet, she's right there, ready to cuddle.
She's rarely more than an arms length away from me.

My favorite thing is she usually chews on one of her toys before bed and when she's done she gives me a goodnight kiss before settleing down.

Joels first spot is right next to me if I'm on the couch, he also will dig at your legs until you move them so he can lay between them:p But if i'm up cleaning or something, his next spot is Rosco.

Lexie is in her Cloud 9 constantly in my office b/c that's where I am most of the time. The rest of the time she wants next to me. :)

Tibbe sounds like he loves you very much.

Josie likes to lay next to me wherever I am. She does think her head is supposed to be next to mine in the bed.
Jack just wants to be near. As long as he is near he is happy. If I am laying in the couch he does think is more comfortable on me. Josie likes to lay next to me on couch.

When I am not home Josie favorite spot is in the chair next to the window, and Jacks favorite spot is in his bed in their room. That's only when I am not home.

Tink's favorite spot is wherever I am. At night she is usually curled up behind my knees or stretched out flat right up against my side. When I am at work she spends the day sleeping on my bed. My girl is definitely a lap dog!

Luma's spot is on my lap or in her toy box in the corner of the living room. Yeah. Really weird but she loves it. Rosie likes to be wherever Luma is! :)

Mine all lay around me wherever I am. When Im in the den on the computer on YT of course they are in the chair next to me, on the floor under me, on the bean bag or the dog bed. They are never very far from me where ever I am. It's like having four little shadows always following me around the house. I cant even get up to go potty without all four of them right there with me.

My Chanel's favorite spot is on my neck and chest. Since the day I brought her home till now, always where she goes:)

Bevo likes to lay between your legs, Mack brown... Your neck. Jaxson right beside you and tiny bryleigh likes to get lost in the cloud 9 bed. Basically, between the 3 boys, watching tv, trying to work, or at night... You can't move! Lol

I enjoyed reading all the 'favorite' spots!! Great thread! My Bailey makes sure he shares his time with everyone that is around. He has definitely been a people dog right from the start. I have a pen in my room with his bed in it and he mostly sleeps in there. I thought it best to get him used to this so that if I need a sitter, he could go anywhere. Lately though, I have had him in bed with me. At first he likes to sleep under the covers, and when he gets too hot he climbs out. As hard as it is at times, I wouldn't want him to get used to sleeping in bed with me... as I wouldn't want him to make a fuss when I find my mate:) The times he does sleep with me I find it very comforting though:) Yorkies sure are the cutiest things on this earth. Biased? Maybe. lol. The funniest thing we find about Bailiey is that when ever he sits while near us, he doesn't sit right on his butt, but hikes it up on our legs. It sure is a comical sight to see:)

Rosie is in her cloud 9 a lot! Mikki wants to be by me.

Ricky likes to hide out under the coffee table or in his dog bed. Princeton's favorite part of the day(other than feeding times) is going to bed. It's the only time he runs!! LOL!! Since I disassembled my bed and put my mattress on the floor(so the dog stairs would reach the top of the bed) I'll often find Princeton hanging out in bed by himself. Otherwise, you'll find him curled up on a pillow or blanket on the couch. He loves laying on soft, fluffy things.

I'm so loving these stories. We've got mostly lap dogs but one or two more independent little ones, it seems. I couldn't help but wonder if anybody had a dog like Tibbe so determined to get to his spot throughout the day. If he weren't practically falling off the couch when he's sharing the pillow on the den couch with me, it wouldn't be such a problem but there's just not so much room and he's right next to me on that pillow- meaning he's right at the front of the couch. I'm always afraid he'll fall off the couch and once or twice it's happened, though he was able to turn it into a jump and landed on his feet. But I worry one day he won't and what if I fall asleep and turn and off he goes! I've a thick rug I keep on the floor with a wicker basket with built-up cushioned insides sitting where he might fall to help but it's still not a good situation. I've tried discouraging every way I can for the 5 years I've had him but his heart belongs to his "spot" and he's not giving up on it! I do keep him out of it as much as possible but still will let him in his spot a few times a day just because he's so bent on loving that one place above all.

Caleb likes to curl up on my chest. I have a heart condition, so sometimes this is uncomfortable, especially as he's grown heavier. Here's hoping he's hit his top weight.
He also will only sleep on my bed (hubbies in the same room, different bed, 'cause he snores and sweats TERRIBLY at night) He'll (Caleb) (..oh ok and sometimes hubby;):rolleyes:), will try and sneak under the covers, Caleb will snuggle near my neck. Sometimes he'll put his head in my hand in the night. Caleb loves to be touching me, which is adorable, it can be un-comfortable when I need to move, but don't to accommodate him:p.

His second fav is at my feet.

Amy's favorite spot is either my husband's or my lap. She isn't a floor dog unless she is playing with her toys or running zoomies through the house.

Phoebe loves my "Under pillow" meaning I sleep on 2 pillows & she loves the one under mine. It usually slides up towards the headboard, so I sleep with a "yorkie hat" lol. Stanley always sleeps by my feet:( no matter how hard I try to coax him to cuddle closer. I think they are afraid to sleep closer to me because I'm such a restless sleeper.

Jasper's favorite spot is wherever I am. But he especially enjoys tv time at night. You see, we watch tv in bed. So, he ends up bringing ALL of his toys and stays butted up against me. Yes, his butt has to be touching me while he chews away. We also have Julia, Bella and sometimes Piper the cat. Good thing we have a king size bed. :D:p

Most of these Yorkies are abject Siamese Twin wannabes it seems. When he's on the pillow, he's right up against me and seems like so many of these posts show he's got that in common with a lot of fellow Yorkies. They are mostly not happy to just find a spot on the floor as lots of dogs do. This shows a Yorkie wants to be on or touching his person a good deal of the time or he's just not satisfied. Wish we had a way to show each of them in their fav spots with us but that kind of selfie is hard to get!

Mandie's absolute fave spot is between her daddy's legs on the bed. Her 2nd choice is up next to our pillows, by our heads.
