Donating YT 500 Club Member | sleep question How long should pups be sleeping when they reach about 9 months old? I ask because Jasper doesn't seem to sleep much. I have to make him take a nap in his kennel late afternoon because he gets so aggressive when he gets tired. At night, I don't think he would ever sleep if I didn't put him in his kennel. Which I hate because I'm trying to get him to sleep with us. He stays on the bed...gets down to go to his pee pad in the bathroom or get water....then straight back to bed. But it can be midnight and he is still awake chewing on his toys. Any suggestions? Should I just go to sleep and not worry about it? We keep the door shut and the room is Jasper proofed.

| When Max was that age, he slept well at night for about 6 hours. He never napped during the day. He will be 5 this November and relaxes a lot during the day, waiting for me to do something with him. I don't think he really closes his eyes and goes to sleep though.

Donating YT 500 Club Member | Thanks Kristin! Do you think it will be okay to let him just play himself to sleep on our bed at night then? I really want him to sleep with us. Julia and Bella do. So, it doesn't feel like the whole pack is complete without him.

| I think it is okay as long as the toys he plays with are safe without supervision.

Donating YT 500 Club Member | Yes, they are all safe toys. I'm going to give this a shot tonight. He will be so happy...I just know it! I love all of my furbabies...but there is just something so special about him. Maybe its the whole yorkie thing I keep reading about. I know this...if the DH would agree,I would get another one. Yep...ive got the bug.

| Huey will play with his toys off and on all night. I know this, because when we wake up in the morning, the contents of his toy box are now in the bed, both on top of and underneath the covers.

Donating YT 500 Club Member | Well Jasper decides to attack Bella, his 2 year old Rat Terrier sister, in the middle of the night. And, she is just so sweet and timid she just rolls over and takes it. So....he ended up sleeping in his bed the rest of the night. We will keep working at it every night though. He is such a stinker sometimes... Today he is flat out being a brat. UGH

| Does he have his own blanket or pillow on the bed? Gracie has both and loves it. She has always slept well with me at night and will crawl under the blanket if she wants extra warmth. Maybe giving him more exercise during the day will get him to sleep better at night. He may not need the afternoon nap as much as he needs to go for a good brisk walk. |
