What's the longest time you've been away from your Yorkie? I am going on a trip for 7 days, and this will be the first time me and Teddy have been apart since I bought him 7mths ago. He is going to be staying with my boyfriend, while I'm gone, but I am still nervous. I just hope he doesn't miss me too much. |
I have been away from my yorkeis for two days when we went on a mini vacation. If we went on vacation I would have to board them. |
We took a long weekend trip this summer to Las Vegas and left ours with my sister. All other trips so far we have been able to take them with us. |
4 hours! I can't stand to leave her. |
Oh I am SUCH a bad mommy!! We went to Hawaii in November, and left Wosie for 17 days!! I was so upset about it, as she was not quite 5 months old, and I thought she would forget me! I also thought she would forget all the training we had accomplished. But nope! She remembered me, potty training, sit, stay, everything! :D She stayed with our vet, and got completely spoiled. All the vet techs are in love with her! Now whenever we go, everyone comes running out to greet her. Too cute! Dogs really don't have any sense of time. One day/10 minutes, it's all the same to them. |
4 hours also! He goes to work with me,, so the only time he is not with me is if I go shopping or out, and I never let that be more than 4 hours. |
I was away from BEll when we went on vacation for a week, She stayed with my friend who has two dogs and a fenced in backyard, She loved it and I missed her so much!! I don't know what I would do now with my three, I would never find anyone who would watch all three!! WHat do you guys do with more than 1?? |
I was away from him for a week last summer, and it killed me. Some tips: Bring pictures with you. And if you have internet access, sign on to YT as much as possible. |
I was forced to leave Gus behind twice. Both were for 3 days. The first I had to have emergance surgery and was laid up in the hosp. for 3 days and a month later I took Cherish to go see her mother. I would have taken Gus if there was a way to sneak him it but there was no way. Prisons are like that. You can't even wear under wire bras. It was so hard on us both! Poor little guy wouldnt eat and all he wanted to do is sit on the sofa closest to the door and sat there waiting for me. My dughter was so worried about him. She was giving him Nutrical 3 times a day and forced him to drink water. She took very good care of him for me. She even slept with him on the sofa so that he wouldnt be alone. |
I recently had a heart attack (and im only 46) :( and I was in the hospital for 5 days, I missed them soo soo much, and was so worried about them even though I had my husband and 2 kids ages 16 and 18 with them. I just felt so terrible like they thought I abandoned them or something. But I came home and all was fine, they were so happy to see me and Louie was smiling! :p |
3 weeks! And it sucked...it took a day for them to get attached to me again. I was home with them a week. Now I'm gone for another week! I hate it!!! |
10 days and it was not easy. Helen has a boarding hotel for toys and all 10 of my babies stayed there. I hope they missed me as much as I did them, but truth be told, they had each other and I will never be sure...I prefer to think they cried for me every night like I did them, but............... They were glad to see me when I came home, though. |

Please please please take care of yourself. I just lost my aunt in October due to a massive heart attack and she was only 52. It was was out of nowhere. She had just had her yearly check and everything appeared to be just fine. That is so scarry! I hope you are feeling better! |
Aww Im so sorry to hear about your Aunt. Yes I got quite a scare and I have plenty of new year resolutions that will help with my health and recovery. It truely was a wake up call and I feel that I was lucky for that because unfortunately some people dont get that second chance. My condolences to you and your family :sad: |

One Day..but she was MISSED I just got Baby a month ago. The other day my cousin and I went to Atlantic City (gambling). I left her by my parents' house. I came home at 4:30 in the morning, and I almost drove over there to get her that's how much I missed her already!! Oh, and for those of you who are allowed to bring your babies to work...I'm JEALOUS!! I wish I could. My principal (I'm a teacher) won't even let me bring her in to show the students. They all want to see her. Other teachers have brought in pets, but the thing is, they didn't ask and didn't get caught. I did the nice thing by asking, and I got shut down. The whole, "But they don't shed...and they're like the most hypoallergenic dog" didn't work!! :D |
Hey Nicole, I'm going to Atlantic City next week for a few days, How cold was it there??? Do they have snow?? I don't have any snow foot wear!! |
When I went to Girl's camp this Summer I was gone for 5 days. Tucker was at home with my parents. :D |
LDS girls camp Meagan? Ahhh… memories… I had to leave Bridget with friends for a few nights when I was moving last month. I hardly slept at all I was missing her so much. |

10 days....the longest 10 days EVER! She stayed with my mom who she adores...but I still called every day and had my mom put me on speaker so Reyna could hear my voice. OK OK OK I know...silly to anyone but a yorkie lover.....but who cares....I loooooove my little baby! :D |

I'd have to say 4hrs. Last night actually. We went out for the New Year fireworks and thought it wouldnt be a good idea to bring Twinkie along coz the noise would probably scare her. |

We left Edie for 10 days to go on a cruise through the Panama Canal. I was heartbroken leaving her, but she stayed with my husband's aunt and uncle who NEVER left her alone the entire time. They are older, and don't go out much anyway. Edie was completely spoiled, so now we call their place "Uncle Sonny's Club Med for Yorkies". It is nice to have someone you can trust with your pet. Anyway, when they picked us up at the airport, Edie was very excited to see me but she didn't want to burn any bridges, so she sat right between me and Uncle Sonny on the way home. She didn't know who she was going home with, so she decided to be diplomatic and not play favorites. |
