I need to check Sophie Kates page, I know a teenage girl who might be happy since she has the same first and last name as Sophie (we get her friend requess sometimes). |
you guys are right, it is the pages that are set up like people pages they are after, I believe it has to do with advertising dollars and how many "humans" have accounts. A lot of my friends with very active pet pages are hurrying to change their profile pictures to include themselves, but some have had their pages frozen so they can not change it or access their list of friends. That's a shame because many of those people had a ton of activity and did not have their own page. When it comes to advertising many of those humans behind the Pet Profiles buy a lot of items, much more so than the average teen and tween with a page, but all that is hard for a corporation to understand. Do any of you guys know when it comes to fan pages if you like them, will their updates show in your news feed. For instance I see updates from Lady Jane from her own page, but not from the Yorkie Haven Page. Then when I want to look up a fan page, I have to go into the search bar, it does not show up like friends do. Perhaps I don't have it set up correctly but a lot of this is a mystery to me:D |

Apparently with the fan pages, they limit how much they put out so that the people have to PAY to promote. Kind of disgusting imo to do that to rescues. You can choose to get the updates from those pages....I just don't know how. I suppose someone else here might...or we can google it. |
Here it is: Facebook rolling out option for fans to receive notifications about page posts - Inside Facebook That is unless they have changed it...they seem to change things on a daily basis. PIA .. |

This is something that Facebook has been trying to get under control for over a year. I think if a person has a business & wants to use a social networking media to allow their fans a place to gather they should follow the rules set up by that media. It's true that all of the articles about improper usage are old. Here's a site that talks about the current resurgence to get people to adhere to FBs rules. This article is from 6/6/10 so you can see it's been something that's been around for awhile. Facebook Deleting Pet Accounts and Accounts With Animal Profile Pics? - Facebook Rumour BTW, these aren't new rules; they've been part of FBs user agreement for a very long time. |
Doggone it...I also wanted to let those of you who have a Page know that you can see all notifications from other Pages you've liked by going to the little f on the left side of your Facebook & looking down in the list for Pages Feed. Hope this helps! |
Oh my goodness, any tips help me tremendously. I just can't get the hang of it. Could it be that I am old? |

It isn't a matter of what is in the profile picture. My "real" personal account also has a picture of Max. |

I'm pretty sure that if you need a business fan page, organization page or want a pet fan page everything can be transferred ONE time. Here's an article that explains it pretty well (be sure to read the whole thing before you've made any changes.) How to convert your Facebook Profile into a Facebook Page | The Social Animal? Blog I've posted this on my FB fan page. If I can be of any help, just ask. |

From what I have been seeing lately, I cannot help but wonder if, since it is cropping up at certain times out of the blue, disgruntled folks are reporting others. With the amount of profiles on FB, it really does not make sense to me that they just happened upon some of them. So sad but that is what people do. They tried to do it to YHR just recently...trying to stop our fundraising...reported us to Paypal. Of course, it was handled appropriately, but I found it disgusting that someone would stoop so low. |

8.7% of the total pages are pet pages... I saw the news... they said the investors were complaining... dogs don't have Credit Cards (some do, lol) and they're also going after any personal pages that appear to be doing some kind of business. I guess the idiots don't realize that 'PEOPLE' (with credit cards) are the ones actually using FB and looking at the pet pages! Sometimes the 'Higher Ups' need a reality check... they think by doing away with the pets pages they'll make more money... really? Just pisses me off and I'll make it a point not to purchase from ads on FB. Lol! |
