I know we preach using a harness on YT. I wanted to start this thread on harnesses again. I was thinking about how I used a collar and leash on Rosie when I first got her. I used a collar because I honestly did not know any better! Thanks to YT, I was educated that a harness is a better option for our babies. Now when I see a Yorkie on a leash with a collar, I just cringe! So let's educate and show our harnesses! Rosie just got a brand new one. It is a Choke Free harness in metallic purple from Lil Sis! We love the CFH! Here is my sweet Rosie showing it off!

I know that Maximo sells Buddy Belts and Chattiesmom has the silk step in harness. Lets see what harness you use!

I have the same type but it is the metallic brown to match her hair.

That purple looks gorgeous against Rosie's coat!! I never considered purple, but it really is beautiful! I'll have to dig up some photos...or take some after bath time today :)

Oh Rhonda....your little Rosie looks absolutely stunning as ever....love her in the purple! :D

I so wish we had a Choke Free vendor in the UK, it would be a brilliant business opportunity for someone!! :)

Harry, too, used to wear a collar and lead when he was tiny - until I read about all the horrors - God bless YT!!

So I got one imported from Freida's Boutique, but it's plain old boring old black (it was the only one I could get away with, Andy-wise!! :rolleyes:). So that picture would be the most boring one in the history of YT!! :D

I love the red meshy one...I think Harry would look quite dashing in that?!!!? Think I'd best pester Lil Sis....!!! :D Sally + Harry x

Oh Rhonda, Rosie's metallic purple harness is stunning! I love that color! It's beautiful against Rosie's coat! ;)

I think it's a little obvious, we love Buddy Belts! :D (Thanks Kristin, Maximo)

Thanks to Kristen, Lil Sis and Chattiesmom, all of our babies are much safer!

We love our Buddy Belts!

We also have two of Chattiesmom's silk harnesses, and they are beautiful! I use them for more decorative harnesses. The Buddy Belts are better for riding in the car and for getting dirty.

All the pups looks adorable in their harnesses!
Since we are on the subject of harnesses, does anyone know of an "escape proof" harness? Henri is notorious for getting out of harnesses, he has been dubbed the "Houdini of the dog world" due to him being able to get out of every harness I have tried. I have tried roughly 5 types and he gets out of all of them, I have tried: standard, vest, some mesh over the head one (can't find a pic of it), a nylon "perfect fit" one, and another that I can't remember. He doesn't slip out often, but when he does it's at the worst possible times. Any suggestions?

Thank you! Yazmin! You have a mommy who really loves you! Look at those BB! :D. A pretty girl has to have many colors to choose from! :p

Have you tried a BB or CFH? I can't believe he could get out f them! :eek:

The Buddy belts can't back out of as long as you get the right size. I even put it on my cat. Cats can get out of anything and he couldn't. I would definitely look into one. Speak to Kristin about sizes if you have any questions.

Oh all your pups look wonderful in their snazzy harnesses!! :) i have the Choke Free in hot pink metallic and just got a BB & matching leash in metallic gold for Lexie. Love them both!! There are things I love about both, so it's hard to decide. guess I just need more, LOL! :p

I post pics next time I get a chance. :)

Maybe see if anyone around you has one. You could try in on. I know I was worried about spending a lot of money on a harness. For me it worked at wonderful. My little wiggle worm can not get out of it. For me worth every penny.

Oh btw if you bought any of them from petsmart or Walmart you can bring them back.

Right now Gina is in a kitten harness, I don't remember the brand. She hasn't been able to get out of it, and we have a 5ft lead. Any time Gina pulls on the lead I stop and wait for her to come back to me, which she does very quickly. Gina is now 18 weeks old, and is about ready to go up to a bigger harness, I will have a look at the BB and others mentioned and sold here.

That's a great idea, I think I will try to find someone who has a BB around here, thanks Teri!:D
If all else fails I might just have to buy one and hope for the best :rolleyes:

Unfortunately all the harnesses were bought at Petco and they wouldn't let me return any of them, I will probably just donate all them or give them away on here once I find a harness that works.

Yes petco is not as customer friendly as Petsmart. If you order from them you and want to return anything you have to go and print out a receipt. It is a pain.

I understand how you feel. I spent so much money on ill fitting harnesses for Yazmin before she was old enough to get her 1st. Buddy Belt. Our first BB is one of the Classic colors. They are less expensive and they come in 5 beautiful colors too!

I am not positive but I think the CFH is a little cheaper. You could ask Lil Sis on YT for pricing. You might also post in the products wanted area. Someone may have one they would want to sell at a discounted price. It doesn't hurt to ask.
