Funny habits... One of the funnier habits Zoey has is when she wants to save her treat for later. She tries to "hide" her treat but she ends up giving away her secret hiding place EVERY TIME. Basically, she'll spend anywhere from 5-10 min looking for that perfect spot. Once she finds it, she'll put the treat there and sit/lay about a foot or two away. And then she just stares at it. Of course, Magnus then realizes she's hiding something good and steals it. She gets so upset.. I just end up giving her another treat and then she'll eat it right away. LOL What funny habits/quirks do your furbutts have?! |
That's hilarious! Dallas doesn't really have any. He sleeps with his tongue sticking out, which I think is adorable, but I've read that quite a few yorkies do that. Aurora is still pretty new here, but I'm training her to go potty on a pad and she has started to go potty on it and then stare at me until I clap and say "YAY!!!" and then she wags her little stub and comes running to me, super excited. I'm praising her, but I end up getting tons of kisses out of it. :-P Anna |
Leiloni doesn't have any habits but Gus used to dry his slobber off of his squeaky toys and rubber balls with any cloth he can find. He didn't like to play with them if the were too wet. |
Leila just started hiding her treats too and might I add not a very good job at it. She tries to push her blankets on top of it but for some reason she doesn't do a great job on covering it. My little one is really greedy with food! Even after shes done eating shes take her bowl everywhere with her carrying it in her mouth! You wouldn't even imagine the places I found her bowl! |
Molly has a habit she just started. She will wait for Macy to lie down in her Cloud 9 bed and be asleep. Molly will then pull the bed while Macy is still asleep in it to the middle of the room. She'll then start barking and wake Macy up. Molly's little tail starts wagging so fast like she just pulled a really funny prank on Macy. |
Noah has to inspect the food bowls when I fill them. Every time. |

When Max is getting ready to lie down in his bed, he scratches it, then walks over to my legs, and goes back to his bed. He does this 3 - 4 times before he lies down. It's like he has to do a "check" on me although I am sitting only 2 feet away. He has done this since he was a puppy. |

Our first yorkie, Charlie (a very large yorkie), would beg to go out the living room door, run around to the back of the house and scratch to come in the sliding door. He didn't do anything outside. He just ran around my house to come in the back door. A lot of times he would be at the back door before we were back to the living room. He would do this over and over. At the time it was annoying. I sure miss it. |
My little Piper is a talker!! Today she stole my granddaughters expo marker because she dropped it on the floor by her desk and I caught her and took it away before she had a chance to chew on it. Well, my granddaughter asked her why she took her marker and Piper just sat there and talked to her. My hubby and I were dying laughing. She's talked to us before but not when asked a question. She also runs around with her bone in her mouth whining until you tell her to come here and then she will drop it in front of you so you will throw it for her and she can go fetch it and bring it back. It's so funny to watch this little 2 1/2 lb dog running around whining with a bone in her mouth!!! I need to keep my phone close so I can take a video of her the next time she does something silly. :) |
I love each and every one of these stories!!! They really are smart little poops. :D |
When I come home from work I pull into the garage and close the door. I open the door leading to the house and Brandi runs out and runs a full circle around the car and runs back in the house.....stops on the second step and starts barking. It as if she is telling about her day. The first time she did this, the garage door was opened and I almost had a cow but she did her full circle and ran right back into the house. She's been doing this every day for six years. Now I never open the door leading to the house until the garage door is closed. She also runs a full circle around the couch that I have in the basement whenever we go downstairs to do laundry......she is so silly. |
Jasmine, when she goes to bed at night (with us) she always scratches on my leg.....that is her signal telling it is time for me to put her blanket over her. If I put her blanket on her before she tells me to, she will just get up and walk out from under it. I always have to wait until Jasmine scratches on my leg "telling" me, "hey, it's time for my blanket now". Then she goes straight to sleep. She cracks me up! |
Love these stories! Such cuties, we all have. There's a step stool for the kids to use to get up on the couch. If Yogi has a toy in his mouth he can't just run up to the stool and jump on it. He first approches the stool, puts his front paws on it, then he runs around the coffee table, comes back to the stool, stop and jumps up on it from a stand still. At first I thought he was running around the coffee table to build up steam to be able to jump. But no, he comes back to the stool and stops dead before he jumps onto the step stool. Without a toy in his mouth he will jump right up onto the stool, with a toy, he has to sling-shot around the coffee table first. :p |
Funny habits My 18 month Yorkie, Bailey, has a habit since I've had him... he takes his kibble out of his bowl, one at a time, then eats it and goes back for more:) Hope that everyone has a great day! |
I love to read all these stories, Winston does a lot of the same things as yours. My all time favorite thing he does is puts his little paws on my face, one on each cheek, and looks deeply into my eyes...I swear if he could say "I love you" he would!!! |
What a GREAT thread! Ian always gets very excited as we're getting ready for dinner. When we start to say our grace, he will sit down, and wait very quietly, until we finish. As soon as we lift our heads, he starts twirling around and doing the bunny-hop, again! Too cute! |
If I go to the bathroom and DON'T close the door King Vincenzo stands in the doorway and barks at me.....I always feel so foolish and embarrassed for some reason. If I put shoes/slippers on, King Vincenzo goes stark raving mad, turning in circles and barking until I remove them. I now keep them in my car and leave a pair of flipflops by the door to wear out to the car, this is going to suck in the snowy winter... When I brush my teeth, King Vincenzo keeps jumping off my legs and of course barking....God forbid I floss.... Curtains, I am absolutely not permitted to have curtains, blinds are fine but curtains are unacceptable....King Vincenzo despises them. Change anything around, he gets mad as hell and barks at it....The vase will never be moved again... When I have to pick Vincenzo up I have to wait until he spins a couple times and twerks his but on my leg...I absolutely can not pick him up while he is facing me.... |
Gina likes to run on her 5ft lead around me and get her self airborne, she will do it over and over, she loves it. If I close the curtain on the back door Gina will try to open it, and every time she gets her duck or dragon she always goes for the throat and shakes, then it's safe to play with. Cheers Quad:aimeeyork |

Puff doesn't like to be picked up unless she initiates it. If she wants me to pick her up she scratches the back of my leg then walks around so she's in front of me, standing sideways, always facing left. Once I have her, she insists on lying on my left arm. I love reading about everybody's pups! They are all so smart, it makes me wonder what they say to each other about us! |
Love this thread! |

Gizmo does a couple cute things already. The first I talked about in another thread. He gets a treat when he potties on his pad, so he will keep going back and trying over and over and over, he wants those treats soooo bad lol. The second one is really funny I think. I have been training him to find his toys when I hide the from him, and is doing awesome at finding them. Well I think I figured out why haha. A couple nights ago, I went to check on him while he was supposed to be sleeping, but instead he was in his playpen taking one piece of kibble at a time and burying them in his blanket, under his toys, where ever he could think of. Then after hiding them, he would go find them and eat them lol. Another funny thing he does, is after he eats or drinks anything, he has to go over to the throw on the couch and wipe his face very thoroughly :-) considering every bit of his hair was just crusty and really dirty when I rescued him, he never wants to be dirty at all :-) he has done this ever since I was able to finally give him his first bath, after he was healthy enough. He is so smart he amazes me xoxo |
Every time I give Oscar his heartworm preventitive he snatches it out of my hand takes it onto the carpet, drops in on the floor and proceeds to rub his neck on it and then sniff it, then he will roll onto his back and rub the pill with his back, sniff again, then he rubs it a second time with his neck sniffs it THEN he will finally eat it. He gets really excited and will spin in circles when I put my pants on LOL He will come up to me and lightly touch his nose on my leg when he wants attention. This is my favorite thing he does, he's so sweet! |
