I think dogs like to lick up your nose because the mucus is salty. The shape probably plays into it too. I swear my other yorkie did it to be a jerk, he had the worst breath and would only lick your nostrils. I love doggy kisses but I only allow them on my face if I know the dog. Lola gives very nice kisses but you have to be careful because she'll throw a nibble in sometimes. |
I love puppy kisses, but I don't let the fosters give me kisses until after their dental! Lmao. I don't know where that mouth has been prior to getting to me! Uni kisses on command, but sometimes if she's being grumpy she will snub me. I draw the line at open mouth and up the nose. Uni also likes to lick tattoos. Like she thinks she's helping to clean us, like no I don't like this one you got. |

Gracie loves to lick people's faces. When someone comes to visit she feels it is her duty to lick the face of everyone that arrives. Thankfully we haven't had anyone who felt squeamish about it yet. I do have to tell her when to stop sometimes if she gets overly excited. Usually young kids make her practically ecstatic. :) |
My smallest Roxy wants to be a dentist when she grows up. She is fascinated by mouths. It drives everyone else crazy. Cozy and Lucy will give kisses- Cozy loves behind the ears- She feels most people don't clean their enough. Buddy rescued golden- Does not to kisses. He will look at your face and come super close and then back off. He does give the yorkies and cats kisses must to Mika's dismay. |
Luma has given me kisses when I ask for them since I first brought her home. I know she's angry with me if she won't do it. Then I will apologize to her and loss her forehead...and eventually she will come around and lick my hand to let me know I'm forgiven. :rolleyes: Luma looooves her daddy and anytime daddy allows her to kiss him on the mouth (rare. Reserved mostly for when Luma is sad/sick/clingy) she's very happy. Rosie loves to kiss us too. We're very friendly in this household....lol. |
It used to always freak me out when any dog would lick my face, especially mouth! I think that's the best thing about Billi tho. Before I even held her, she licked my nose & I caught a whiff of her puppy breath and it was instant love! She can kiss & lick me anytime, and it doesn't even weird me out about my mouth or nose. She's so loving, how could you stop her anyway?? |

Anyone have their furbies try to give you a "bath"? For example, after a nap both Magnus and Zoey tries to "wash" my face and then move on to my arms, legs... I don't mind the kisses but like most, just not the mouth. And I've learned quickly never to yawn when they're close to your face.... LOL |
Of course.:) I don't like to turn away puppy love. Mouth in fine, just not inside. Up nose is not fine. I have to close my mouth really tight or her tongue slips through. If she is being excessive I will turn my head or distract her. Rylee is allowed also f he hasn't eaten poop recently.:rolleyes: Dogs that aren't mine and have yucky hreath are not allowed to concentrate kissing on the face. When my girl ate people food I had no problem letting her lick my ice cream, etc. I'd share a glass of water with her if needed. |
I love Bailey kisses. My grandmother doesn't enjoy puppy kisses very much (she won't even let her dog give her a kiss). So Bailey will sit and kiss her on the pants or shirt lol. I think depending on how you are raised as to whether you will enjoy a puppy kiss or not. |
