stud stopper The Stud Stopper: A Unique Form of Birth Control for Dogs | Pets - Yahoo! Shine what do you think of this? |
It looks a little ridiculous and very uncomfortable for a male dog. |
That ridiculous they should just spay and neuter there dogs! Guess they don't realize how dangerous it can be for a female to not be spayed if she is not being used for breeding! |
HMM I actually thinks it looks dumb. I can also see that it very well could come loose and then you might get a dog that will be hurt. Sheez they just need to spay and neuter. |
I think that it could spin. |
It does seem like it might could injure one or the other of the dogs and probably it can spin to the side or get caught on the top of the female's rump and get displaced. I'd hate to risk it. Besides, it seems almost cruel to have a male with a female in heat with only the stud stopper to prevent mating and them running around crazy wanting to mate. Either separate them entirely during heat or neuter the dogs if there are no medical reasons not to do so. |
Seriously? |
:p:rolleyes: You knew somebody was going to say it so I will and just get it over with: I can think of a politician or two who might could use this.:D;) |

Stud stopper ceo tina moody Recently i was going thru google to see whats there about this product. I would like all of you to go to the new website where you can see 2 Yorkies (mine) using the product very happily. We are PRO neuter and spay but some animals can't until they are up to 2. We have 4 Yorkies and developed this product for them and all breeds. Please relook and see why this is so important to offer a safe alternative and its extremely comfortable and they could care less it's there lol they only have one thing in mind and thats to simulate mating which reduces stress. :aimeeyork |
Why not neuter/spay at least one of them. There's also putting a diaper on the female and a band, or just keeping them separated. I'm sure there breeders with actual reason for not wanting two of their dogs to get neutered/spay but have held um fine keeping mating between their pack from happening. |
I would never buy this product. It's safer to spay and neuter. |
I think it would make them both extremely frustrated, but um.......how in the heck does the male pee with this contraption on? |

Diapers aren't a safe method of birth control either. Just a few months ago, a member came on here in the breeders section because they had an unplanned pregnancy due to a diaper coming off. I can't say the stud stopper looks too comfortable. It's like a chasity belt for dogs. |

If you, the maker of the stud stopper thingamajig are happy using the contraption, thats your decision. I just see it as pointless. So you're basically allowing your dogs to hump, but not mate. I would think it would be uncomfortable to the male ro be bumping his sensitive member against the barrier. Can't he possibly hurt himself? Hurt her? During heat, isn't mating the only thing on their mind? It's not like the pups want to just hang out and play, they'd betoo distracted by the raging hormones. |
1 Attachment(s) If you google pictures of the thing, you can see it's really no more than a slightly fancy belly band. A determined male could get out of it and ...oops... Another "unplanned" litter. |

we are very saddened by the response of a product that was tested for 8 years and developed specifically for the physical and mental health of the dogs was taken in consideration. The product is VET APPROVED so how can everyone say all these thoughts on how is injuring animals? It is safe and comfortable. It merely allows some needed social time which they deserve and does not interfere with there comfort at all. Anyone making these comments needs to do more research on the product before making these judgements. I'm begging u all to be more open minded and realize we are pro neuter and spay. This offers a safe alternative. Research before u comment please we tested it 8years |
