is buddy pure yorkie? 1 Attachment(s) we were told he was a mutt but both me and the vet think he is a pure yorkie.what do you think? |

we are his third owners even though he is only 6mnths the first owner was in awheelchair and couldnt handle him and the second owner was elderly and coulnt care for him properly (no garden or dog experience) so we took him and she said he was a mutt i see a tiny bit of a scottie am i right? he weighs just under 5kg (11 pounds) |
He sure looks Yorkie! If you're really curious, you can get one of those DNA test kits at PetSmart for $50 to $75 depending on whether they're on sale. No blood is taken -- just a cheek swab. I did it on my rescue Yorkie, and he turned out to be purebred. The paperwork you get back is pretty informative, but I also talked to the lab that did the test. The Tech there said it one of the cleanest Yorkie screens she'd seen. Even if he's not 100% Yorkie, he's 100% CUTE! |

He definitely has yorkie in him but I also think he may be mixed with something else too. |

Him being still young, I think you'd be able to tell more when he gets older. His color might change too. My friend's morkie looked like a yorkie as a pup but once he got older, his coat started changing to all white(with some very light grey on the back). And now, he doesn't really look like a yorkie at all. Your buddy sure is cute though... I'm glad you were able to take him in to give him loving home. |

What a looker! 'Crystal' came from an elderly lady who couldn't cope too. I think younger, altruistic family members get them as companions, not realising they can be quite a handful to keep up with. Truly a beautiful little creature, some Yorkies are bigger. One of Crystal's walkie friends is 16lbs, as big as a 'Westy' and perfectly proportioned (like Buddy). I rate them all and Buddy's really handsome. Crystal took a peek as I was vewing and went Phwwwoar! :animal-pa |
