NO don't give him any more Metacam! It is only to be given once/day.

They do whine a bit from the anesthesia.

Poor little guy. You must really be happy he's home with you comforting him and not all alone at the vet's tonight. Hope you'll be able to control the pain so you can both get some sleep.

He will....but be prepared. I have had them whine and tremble during the night. The anesthesia makes them a bit weird. The first one scared me .. that is actually why a lot of vets like to keep them...the owners get frightened.
Just hold him and keep him warm...he will feel better in the morning! :)

That I can and am doing. At least he is in my arms. No in some old scary cage.

Jasper was up and down through the night. I wrapped him up in his blanket and rocked him. He finally slept solid from around 3:30 to 7:45 this morning. He ate a really good breakfast and took his meds. We played on the bed for about 20 mins. Then back to sleep.

His other furbutt siblings have seen him and sniffed til I didn't think there would be anything of Jasper left. :D:p They don't understand why they all can't tear through the house...:confused: :animal36:dog::cat:

Anyway...thanks to those who helped me get through yesterday and last night. Sometimes I wonder what I did before YT!! :ghug:

Hope Jasper gets some pain meds for a day or two, just to help him relax. Maybe you can both have some naps today after your rough day and night.

I don't know if he will be the same, but I was amazed when I had each of my girls spayed, how they snapped back on day 2 after surgery. It takes a while to shake off the anesthesia and general trauma, and I hope he perks up after a little more rest.
