Why? I know i am probably overreacting but everytime i take samson to the vet, there is this one receptionist who willmjust take him from me and go sit at her desk, or take him to the back and leave me up front without my baby! It drives me CRAZY. Am i just over reacting, maybe im just jealous? |
No. I wouldn't allow that. Ever! |
That's is kinda strange, I would ask her why next time lol |
I wouldn't allow any recepcionist to hold my puppy. Only the Vet or a technician. |

Have you ever seen her do it with anybody else? Maybe next time you could take him in inside of a travel crate? What does your baby think of this? I would go by his reaction to her, if he seems happy for her to hold him I would probably allow it, but if he doesn't want her to take him or seems indifferent I would put an end to it. Maybe ask the vet why she does this-maybe your baby reminds her of one she had. |
I have a vet tech that takes mine to show her off when we have an appointment. I don't mind because I know my girl loves the attention. The vet tech does ask first. And my pup really likes her, I can tell by the way she gets all excited when she sees her vet tech. I don't mind at all. I know she's safe and being adored and loved on when she's in the back of the office. |
The vet I go to, the receptionist always gives Galen some love and lots of kisses at the desk. I do not have a problem with it. I know she is careful with him. She is very nice and I have been going there for a number of years. Galen came to me very socialized and I like to keep him that way. But I would ask if she was going in the back with him," where are you taking my baby? " |
Without permission and if she does not know you well I would say inappropriate. At my Vet all the Techs and Receptionist know me and Sophie Kate very well (that is where I board her) so i would not be bothered at all. But if that were not the case it would not be allowed. Are we sure she is not taking Samson in the back to weight him - maybe just a thought. |
The receptionists/vet techs at Billi's vet office all go bananas over her. One of the girls is like, literally in love with her & gets really excited about seeing her- she does hold her & carry her around and to her desk, etc. I don't mind, because I'm usually getting her records or my wallet out of my purse and they aren't hurting her. Billi does enjoy the attention, too. I think if she wasn't so friendly, didn't like the girls, then yeah, I'd make sure no one could hold her. But if she's happy, then so am I :) |
Uh, no! I would never let that happen. The receptionist at my vet loves on my pups, but does not get to hold them. They do not leave my sight when at the vet unless they have to go to the back (anal glands, blood drawn etc). |
I prefer being with my dogs at all times, unless it is for a surgery or xray (I would like to stay with them for those too, but I understand that the docs/techs don't want me there). |
She has a yorkie of her own, which may be why, but she will just grab him withoutnasng, bring him behind the desk, and wont give him back. She acts like he is her baby, even shows him off jokingley saying she wants to "take him home". Idk it just drives me crazy |
Just don't let her it is your puppy not hers. |

Well, that's crossing the line for sure. Sometime's the best way to handle rude people is to be a little rude back. When she comes to take your lil one, hold him closer and make her ASK you for him. Then say no and explain why. Make her explain herself to you so you can explain your boundaries to her. Just cause someone else has a dog like mine, doesn't mean they have permission to help themselves to Billi when they see fit! |
