Does anyone's Yorkie/Morkie, like to lay on their back to sleep? 2 Attachment(s) My Morkie Bailey has decided he wants me to hold him on my legs or in my arms when he sleeps, but he wants to be on his back. Is this normal behavior? Also, my mother just picked up her Yorkie-poo today and she weighs 1.3lbs at 8 weeks old, any ideas on what kind of bag/purse would be good for her to use to take her with her? Thank you :) |
That's how my Katie sleeps. It's usually accompanied by my husbands hand rubbing her belly. It tells me that she must feel very secure if she can sleep in that vulnerable position. Your baby is gorgeous! |

Cookie does it occasionally, but most of the time when she lies on her back I think it's just to get a tummy rub from me lol. |

Right now my Morkie loves his dachshund friends. My mom has her Yorkie-poo now. So happy because she follows her and wants her to hold her. She named her Sophie Mae (she was born in May and it was 4 days after their 40th Anniversary). Right now I am trying to find a purse/carrier for her. She is only 1.3lbs and my mom wants to carry her and take her with her. Any good brands for purse/carriers? |
I have a Jeraden Windsor, and it's a wonderful bag. It's not a small bag, but it's fully vented and constructed so that Katie feels safe and comfortable in it. AWWWWWWwwwwwwwwww how sweet are these piccies :wub: Broody overload!!!!!! :cool: :D My past dogs ~ whippets and jack russells ~ have often slept on their backs. I think they just feel really relaxed and secure.....and, of course, when there's a cute lil' belly there you just HAVE to rub it, don't you! :wub: |

yes! My morkie, lily, sleeps like this all the time. She's always on my lap on her back while im rubbing her belly. I'm pretty sure thats her favorite position lol. Taka sleeps on his back also but only when he's really really sleepy but he doesn't lay with me most of the time. He's a little stinker. |
Westley will not allow you to put him on his back for ANY reason. Allie will lay in your lap that way, and Noah will let you carry him around like a baby. Of course when Noah was 8 weeks old he came down with parvo, and after spending almost 2 weeks at the vet, I wouldn't let his feet touch the ground, so we carried him around like a baby lol. |
Zach always sleeps on his back and so does my chihahua/jack russell mix Biscuit. |
Gina sleeps in all sorts of positions, but her back is the most often, she will nap on my arm upside down on her back, front paws straight out and back paws crossed. Cheers Quad:aimeeyork |

Amy likes to be held on her back and her head is usually falling off my arm hanging down. Don't know how she does it without all the blood rushing to her head. Amy is also a Morkie and Bailey's little face so reminds me of Amy. He is a little doll. |
