Do any of your pups have bedtimes? Jack has had a 9:30PM bedtime since the day we brought him home. lol. He's always gone into his crate come 9:30, I tell him, lay down, bed time, and he lays down and I give him a treat and close his crate. And he's in there til around 7:30-8AM...we were big on getting him to learn to hold it in and it worked.. But yesterday my family & friends were over late and commented on how weird it was that he has a bedtime  Like he isn't still a baby...lol I actually like that he has a bedtime. You can really tell when he's fighting his tiredness..he gets super mushy and needy lol. Does a bedtime work for your pups? |
Pretty much- come 9pm Blazer is ready for bed. He'll curl up with us on the couch and sleep until we go to bed or put him in his kennel. Every once in a great while he'll kennel up on his own. |
If there's nothing going on around the house (and sometimes even if there is) by 8:30 or 9:00 p.m., he'll usually go ahead & get in his little bed or if lights are out everywhere but the BR where his kennel is, he'll get into his kennel on his own. |
Around 9:30 - 10:00 pm, Dexter will try to get us to go to bed. He will stand at the bottom of the stairs or climb up to the landing and wait for us. If we take to long he'll finally come lay with us on the couch with a big sigh. I'm pretty sure he pushes us because he knows he gets a treat at bedtime when he goes in his crate... |
My two just go to bed when we do. They hang out with us outside or on the couch until we decide to head to bed. They follow us and sleep with us every night :) |
Sprout and Bella sleep with us and they go to bed whenever we do (regardless of time). They sleep in late if we go to bed late, but they wake up when we wake up if they've had enough sleep. Gypsy is up and down all the time because she's a puppy and we let her be up when she wants and sleep when she wants. We did the same for the other two and they grew out of it; I have every confidence she will also. Most of the time when she's up at stupid o'clock it's simply because she wants a new pee pad and a spritz of cleaner in her 'den' (pet safe cleaner) so we do that, give her a cuddle and put her back in. We don't use kennels or crates, we use cube connecting grids and formed them into a 2x3 foot area on the floor. It's so much easier that way because we can simply add grids as she grows. |
ZoE goes to bed when she wants, which is usually around 10-10:30. She just takes herself off to my bedroom, jumps up on my bed, and sleeps. When I go to bed around midnight she is already snuggled up in the blankets with her head on a pillow, and she'll grumble if I turn on the bright overhead light, so I creep slowly in the dark, so as not to step on anything, and use my bedside touch-lamp...it's like living with a lil person. |
Hannah has a bedtime between 9:00-9:30. She's like a little kid..if I let her stay up late she will. At 7 mos. she is just now starting to lay down with me on the couch or in my bed and napp. Usually she won't sit still for even a minute. |
This post brought back fond memories of my Charlie. He loved his crate at bedtime. And when he was ready for bed it didn't matter if we had company or not, he just got up and walked to his crate. If he happened to be up when we went to bed, all we had to do was say bedtime and he would run in there. He shared the crate with Max, so I always would say, "hurry up so you'll get the good spot". |
Lola is on our routine and I am sure a lot of that has to do with the fact she sleeps in our bed but does not get in and out of it on her own. She sleeps where ever I happen to be at the time until I carry her off to bed. I had a pair of yorkies that were crated in our basement at night. We always went to bed around 10 but on those nights we stayed up late, you would see them circling but the basement door and looking up at me, like Mom it's bed time when are you going to take us down there. I did not want them going on their own since the last thing I would do before putting them away for the night was take them out to potty. Same thing with Lola I carry her out side just before we all hit the hay. |

awwwwh such a cute memory |
I start winding Cookie down about 10:30 by turning off the lights and letting her lie with me on the couch. Watch a show on Netflix and then put her in her cage for the night right before I go to bed. Then about 6:30 we get up and she's my hyper pet monkey! |
All my babies have a bedtime....9 - 9:30pm, everyone starts claim their spots! And then, if I am moving slow or I have something else to do, they will all go to my bed, and when I dont show up, they will send out "scouts", who will actually come locate me and start to bark/whimper/howl/nudge/snuffle/snort, to remind they are all in bed, waiting for me to come too!!! |
Honey is in the bed at 9:00-9:30. If i dont go to bed at that time she will just lay on me and take a nap until I finally go to my bed. |
Mine fall asleep on the couch with me around 8:30. From there they sleep until I take them outside for potty time before we head to bed. Tatiana will sleep in, but Teeka is wanting outside between 5:30-6:00! This is the normal time we get up and going for the day. I would love for her to sleep in on the weekends but she will sit and whine until one of us lets her outside. |
Tibbe puts himself to bed which usually can start anywhere from 8:30 - 10:00 p.m. or later if people are over or it's really busy. He just goes with the flow. If he's up late, he usually does sleep in the next morning. |
Nena and Rufus don't really have a bedtime...they sleep in our bedroom, so when we go to sleep, they go to sleep too. And during the day they sleep randomly.. |
Not mine. He sleeps when I sleep and wakes up when I wake up. Such a cutie pie :) |
around 10:30-11 pm |
morgan wants to go to bed at 8 pm every night and he will bark and bark at us but then will come and curl up on our lap till we go to bed |
Cali is at work with me all day so when we get home she want to eat, then lays down next to me on the sofa and dozes or brings toys up to play with. When the news is over about 1100pm she lays very still and watches the routine - taking the iPhone and iPad to the bedroom, put water in her bowl in the bed room, then watches as I come back to the sofa and pick her up to carry her to the bed. At that time she waits for her treat then when I get in bed she brings a squeaky toy for a few minutes of play, then sacks right out in "her spot" while I read before turning the light off. Regardless of when we go to bed she is up at 8:00 am sharp (varies some with daylight savings time changes). |
LOl, that's too funny. No, not really. I mean there is usually a time every night that he will just go off and sleep and I get my computer time, like right now it's 8:30, and he just went and laid on the couch. He doesn't like laying on my bed until I come to bed usually. Which really varies. But if we're up and doing something at 1am, he will be up with us. Just like if everyone is having a lazy day in the house and snoozing during the day, he will too. |
Tessie is such a creature of habit too. She gets up with my husband in the mornings around 6:30-7am and he takes her to my mom's office around 8-8:30am. She's up all day so by the time we get home around 7pm- she is really tired. So I always fix her a blankie on the couch and she sleeps while we watch tv. She'll get down a couple of times to eat/drink. She stays with me downstairs until I take her up to bed and then she snuggles up between me and her daddy to sleep :) |
So cute. Glad I'm not the only one! I'm finding it really does benefit him to have the routine and eventually know that he needs his sleep and not to fight it lol |
lol!!! our bella has slept in the bed with my wife from day 1 3 years now...at 830 she goes o the bed and let you know she is ready !! its too funny.... |

Yes, Reign is between 9:30- 10pm. It's really helpful that he has a bedtime because I bring him everywhere. So I know when where out at that time he will be winding down and sleep and I can have fun...fun...fun! |
Scarlett heads for the bedroom by 9:30, whether we are there or not. Rhett won't go to bed until the last person in the house has turned in for the night. |
Coco starts sounding the sandman alarm around 9:30p. She'll lay on the sofa until one of us carries her tombed around 10p - which is about now! Good night all. |
Wow I feel like a terrible Mommy! I always worked nights, and I'm still a "vampire " lol. Phoebe cant wait to head up to bed with me around 7am, and we get up around noon. She does nap during the day. |
