Yorkie Day in NYC - Sept. 14! Hi everyone! I just wanted to invite everyone to an awesome and free event I am hosting in New York City. We are trying to get the largest ever gathering of yorkies all in one spot! I believe NYC probably has more yorkies than any other city, so we think this is definitely possible. We are hosting Yorkie Day on September 14, 2013 in Central Park and we will have contests, giveaways, advice, vendors, and tons of other fun stuff. Best of all, we will be taking a large group photo so we can show off the HUGE number of yorkies we have in one place! Check out our website at yorkieday.com. Please register today if you are planning on coming so we can plan an even better event by knowing how many people and yorkies will be there. Invite your yorkie friends! Hope to see and meet you all on September 14! |
Sounds like fun! I will try to go! |
I go to a lot of events in NYC, especially the ones Yorkie 911 are involved in. Will you be affiliated with those guys. |
Def wanna go! Jack will love this! |
Aww wish I live in NYC. I would be there. Plus that day is my birthday. |
That sounds like fun |
Awww, I wanna go!!! (Thinkin about it...) Never took Lex on a plane before, so.... |
I registered :) Update your post if you're going to go. Maybe we can all meet somewhere. How fun! |
Buddy will be 3 months old by then so we might be able to come... unless you think thats too young? |
sounds like fun but will not be in the city then, Word of advice if you are going, bring a stroller. It will make your life easier and keep your pup safe. I find in the suburbs here in MI I hardly use my stroller, but in NYC I use it a lot. |
that sounds awesome!! i need to chat with hubs and see if we could make it. :) |

I have the one that Yasmine posted a picture of in that thread, I wheel around both Lola and my sister's yorkie with no problem. But it is definitely not one to use on a lot of unpaved ground, like if you were hiking. |

We are so excited that so many of you have already registered - thank you! We only ask that people register so that we know how many people and Yorkies to expect and we have enough space and Yorkie goodies for all. To make this event a true success, please tell all of your friends who also have Yorkies to come - have them check out the website and register as well. We are really looking forward to a fun time with all the Yorkies on September 14! |

I got this email yesterday: Hi Yorkie lovers! We are very excited to let you know that Yorkie Day is taking place this Saturday! Woohoo! So far, we have over 125 yorkies registered to attend this amazing event! We hope you are as excited as we are for all of our yorkies to get together, play, and get to know each other! Because we have so many yorkies, we thought it would be great to have them all run around and play together. The location for Yorkie Day will thus be at Stuyvesant Park Dog Run from 2pm until 4pm. It is located in Manhattan, on 2nd Avenue, between 15th and 17th Streets. The dog park entrance is located on 15th between 1st and 2nd Avenues, but much closer to 2nd Avenue. It is a very large dog park, and we will be getting there earlier to set up and claim a section of the back of the dog run for all the yorkies to gather. Look for Yorkie Day signs - and yorkies of course! ;) By public transportation, you can take the 4, 5, 6 to Union Square, or the L to 3rd or 1st Avenues. As you may recall from previous emails, we have some exciting guests to welcome at Yorkie Day. We have another surprise guest to reveal now! Schmitty the Weather Dog with Meteorologist Ron Trotta will be appearing and doing a "pawcast" from Yorkie Day! Schmitty has appeared with Oprah, and been featured on The Regis & Kelly Show, The Ellen Show, and Access Hollywood! We are so excited to have such a famous yorkie join us on Saturday! For more information, please check out Schmitty's website at Schmitty The Weather Dog - Schmitty The Weather Dog We also have Rick Caran's Jilli Dog Show performing at our event! Mr. Caran has trained yorkies for many years and will be bringing his "next-generation Jilli Dog" named Ruby to show off her fabulous tricks for us! In particular, Mr. Caran has successfully trained his yorkies to become the world's only poker-playing dogs! We are very excited to see Ruby perform her show, and to hear any training tips Mr. Caran has to share with us! For more information on Jilli Dog and Mr. Caran, please visit Jilli Dog - the world's only poker playing dog - one of America's top trick dogs. Check out a preview of Mr. Caran's show here: Rick Caran and Jilli Dog - Trade Show Appearance - YouTube Furthermore, Yorkie911 will also be participating in Yorkie Day! For those of you who do not know, Yorkie911 is a non-profit rescue group that is dedicated to helping lost, abandoned, or other "in-need" yorkies find foster families, until their "fur-ever" home is located. This is a very worthy cause, close to all yorkie owners' hearts, and Yorkie Day is proud to have Yorkie911 at our event. Please see www.yorkie911rescue.com for more information. Looking forward to seeing everyone this Saturday, September 14 at 2pm!! Please let us know if you have any questions about Yorkie Day. Lastly, please remember to keep telling your friends with yorkies to register and come - the more, the merrier! :) Best regards, Laura & Stirling |
