And the crying stopped after a couple of minutes. Either she tired herself out or she is starting to learn I'm not giving her attention for that kind of negative behavior at night. Guess I'll have to start crate training in earnest when I get up in a few hours. |
So far no more indoor poops/pees since those first three; not even sleeping in the night! Lots of outdoor poops and pees though. |
HAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!! Cookie and I were watching some of Alana's Dexter's Ruff Life videos on youtube and Cookie started growling at Dexter! |
She is so cute! I can't believe I just saw the pictures! You are doing such a great job of house training her. Every dog I ever had cried and cried at first on the crate, but wound up loving it so much later. Well, every one except for teddy. He was the one exception to my rule. I can't wait to see more pictures of her! |
Crate training at this age takes constant vigilance. She is going to have to go very often and if you are not right there to take her out she has no ability to hold it so you can't be even a couple of seconds off. She is adorable. I hope all goes well for you but it is going to take a while for her to be totally trained. |

Still pretty amazing! After all she is a tiny baby:). My adult yorkie peed inside today so she's still almost doing better than he is:):) actually she is totally doing better than he is! |
It was kind of funny this morning. We have been feeding her canned Pedigree puppy formulation the past two days, so when I switched to Royal Canin 29 this morning Cookie looked up at me as if to say "Where's the Beef?" I eventually mixed a bit of the Pedigree back with her Royal Canin, and now she likes the Royal Canin again. Her favorite snack so far is Honeycomb cereal. D'oh, I bought her a can of unsalted green beans the day before I got her and completely forgot to give her any; Deb told me she loves green beans and baby carrots. I know all yorkie seem to dearly love carrots (Minnie did for sure), and Cook is also a big fan. |

Got her a little tennis ball that she loves to chase outside when I throw it. Funny thing is she always wants to take the tennis ball inside instead of bringing it back to me. So then when we go inside she grabs her tennis ball and immediately heads for the door and starts crying. So I took her out again to throw the ball, and she still fetched it and tried to take it back inside. Finally I convinced her to come bring it back when she was sitting at the back door outside with the ball, and now when she brings the ball back to me she runs past me, turns around, and comes up behind me to give the ball back, lol. |

she is so cute |
Sometimes I feel like Cookie is training me. So it's 9PM and she has only eaten half the amount of Royal Canin she is supposed to for the day and I can't get her to finish her daily bowl. Put a little Pedigree out and she wasn't eating that either, but she still wants to give me tons of kisses. So I got the idea of smearing the Pedigree on my nose and asking for kisses, lol. She ended up eating a pretty decent amount before getting sick of it. Boy I hope feeding her is easier tomorrow. |
Just love Cookie's little high pitched bark. Don't have a videocamera so can't share, but it's the cutest sound in the world. I practically melted the first time I heard it after picking her up at the airport. |
I love the puppy bark. It's so cute! |
Cookie cracks me up. She has a small Simba the Lion King toy (no small parts and very durable) that she likes to take out back and set in a patch of lavender growing in the garden. Then she jumps and pounces on it to release a nice smell. Plus the patch is really soft. |
Man this dog just drives me crazy in a good way. A couple of minutes ago she jumped on my chest and started kissing my face, and then started kissing my ear until I was laughing so hard I was crying. Then she kept trying to stick her tongue in my mouth! Oh my God, I still have tears of laughter! |

I was out of town for a family reunion and my Dad was sick, so I felt I really needed to go. I just caught up with this thread and Chris you crack me up! Food on your nose?? Now, that is true love! LOL Thank you for the home you're providing and the love and care you show her! |
Cookie had a mucus poop this morning, so I took her into the vet with a stool sample. Everything tested negative, and he thought it was just the change in diet Cookie has had this week. Said her heart, ears, eyes, teeth, gums, hips, etc looked great in the checkup, and my little teapot in the making is at 3.75 lbs two days shy of her 15th week. He recommended I start her on Heartguard, and Cookie ate that chewable up quickly; I broke it into a few pieces since she's still so small and I don't want her to choke, but she ate every last bit. She immediately gave kisses to my vet's sweet assistant Kim who was just so sad when we lost Minnie. Kim said Cookie is such a cutie. |
This girl cracks me up. So her outdoor water bowl is a big one like you'd give an 80lb dog, and little 4 lb Cookie likes to stick her paws in it and play with it to watch the sunlight rippling off the waves lol. |
My Cookie Monster is a pretty smart pup. I haven't worked on tricks at all until about 3 days ago, but now she knows 1. Sit 2. Speak 3. Lay Down 4. Up 5. Crawl (thanks Captain Noonie!) 6. C'mere Cookie is still a work in progress, though she's getting better at it as I'm getting her used to following me on the leash. Still, the main trick I want to teach is "Go Pee" lol |
Wow! That's so many trucks so fast:). Cookie is so smart:). Wouldn't it be amazing if you could say go pee and it worked? We can dream..... |
