Doggie identification problem ?!?!?!? - YorkieTalk.com Forums

At my mothers work, I was taking out the trash and I stumbled upon a male Yorkie. He was in the dumpster and i couldn't tell what kind of dog he was. He was severely matted and he was under weight and cover in fleas/ticks as well. The mats were so bad that he was bleeding a lot.

He is my big baby now and he is amazing. He sleeps with me every night. He is actually on my lap as i type. Only one thing bothers me. Most yorkies are black and brown..... he isnt.

This is all I can really tell you:
* He is white

* He is supposed to have long hair.

* He has this gold/copper/amber color only on his ears, feet, and tail.

* He has a honey tint to his cute wittle face.

* He is seriously soft and silky smooth.

*pics are included but has short hair now cause he was shaved recently due to his condition.

Yorkies are not supposed to black and brown except puppies. They should be silver with tan markings on face and legs. Some are a darker silver than others. He also might be a mix not pure. It is hard to tell from pictures and since you don't know history. But it looks like he found a great home.

You're such a wonderful person for taking care of him. I hope it works out :-) He's so cute btw. He kinda looks like Toto from the Wizard of Oz which was a Cairn Terrier. But I think he's super handsome

I hope you love your rescue as much as I love mine!

First off thank you for taking in this little guy, what a blessing that you were there at the exact time He found You. I can't imagine how long he has been alone on the streets scared and hungry.

To me he looks mixed, plus he seems like a senior dog, which may explain the white of his face and body. Your vet may be able to tell you more about him by an exam and will get him started on his shots to protect him from any illnesses. Ticks can spread lymes disease plus there are several others that are wide spread such as Heart worm that he needs to be treated against. With him being abandon there is always that chance that he could have illnesses that are not apparent.

Barney has light colored hair. He's wearing a shirt in the picture, but you can see some hair around his neck and back. It is a very light gray. Congratulations on your new family member. He's a lucky guy.

What a lucky little boy to have been in that very dumpster at the time you opened it and God bless you for not walking away, as no doubt some would do! It sounds as if that little guy had had such a bad life before that day and you saved his life and are a true heroine. Thank you for helping a dog in trouble. I think you little terrier is darling and hope that you two have many, many happy years together and he can always live the life of a much-loved friend and family member. You both are very blessed.

Only a special person, with a good heart would take in this sweet baby. Thank you for taking him home with you and giving him love that it looks like he hasn't had in his life. I don't know if he is or isn't a pure bred yorkie. But, I do know he is beautiful!

I pray the fleas and ticks from ten thousand camels, nest and multiply in the crotch of the person that dumped that baby in the garbage.....thank you for having the depth of heart and spirit to take him and rescue him....he will be forever grateful to you for that!

Thank you for saving him! Yorkies can be all sorts of colors. I have seen others that have the same coloring as him.
