| Clavomax, I think, may be one of the sulfur-based antibiotics and that may contribute to the smell. Call the vet & ask. |

| Yes! That's what it's called! And I pray that's the source of the smell. She takes .25mL everyday twice

| Even if the added smell is due to the medication, there's still some urine being caught in her coat. I would at least get a "sanitary" grooming of her private parts. |

| You can trim her hair up yourself on the insides of her legs. I trim Mandie myself. But if it worries you to do this, I would have a groomer just trim the insides of her legs up. Many here use wipes after their girls tinkle. I'm sure that would help if you did it. I think the med and/or UTI is causing the smell to be stronger, but wipes could help in between baths (to stretch those 3 days to a week). Mandie gets bathed weekly (most of the time) but she spends a lot of time outside and gets dirty quicker than mostly indoor pups.

| Yeah but her vet is 30 minutes away and I can't pay the expensive office few for a trim. I think I'm just going to find a groomer. I don't want to take her to petsmart but they have the window you can see through

| Sanitary trim would help loads. Ive only just started looking for grooves for Draco and am terrified of them cutting to much or see him shaved! I've been only trimming Draco myself. When he's all tired and sleepy I trim the hair in his belly, some under his tail, and hair under the paws.

| Donating YT 30K Club Member | I have 3 girls in long coat and I don't have a problem with the urine smell. I do trim their hair under their legs and belly. Cali and Pixie are both on Clavamox. Cali for a skin issue and Pixie for a UTI and I haven't noticed a smell. Maybe take her to a groomer and stay there while they give her a sanitary trim. Miley is adorable and so much coat!

| I FEEL THE SAME WAY! Lily had a long coat and she smelled like urine literally right after I gave her a bath and yes urine would get stuck in her hair. Her whole back hind leg area and between her legs would turn yellow cuz she was just peeing on it when she tried to go. I took clippers to it about 2 weeks ago cuz I couldnt do it anymore (just the back area where it would get stuck, i wont try all of her im scared of that lol). when she sits on my lap basically anytime im sitting down I cant take the smell lol. lily is white and silver so you can see pee in her hair. |
