But I would file a complaint to the Police so there is a record. If you can't resovle anything with the neighbor?? Maybe he sleeps at that time and some adjustments need to be made? Or he could just be sour

Yes, we did the police route. We do have the cameras that we are setting up and the audios. He doesn't work at all and is a younger person.

One thing is, I would never display it, since that would be seriously egging this sociopath neighbor on, and you don't want to do anything to set this guy off emotionally.

Depends on the State. Dog is property some States you can protect your property with lethal force. Some States you will be prosecuted for shooting someone for hurting your dog. I'm just saying know your laws. If they are killing your dog you may need to jump in between and take a hit. You then reluctanly draw your weapon because you fear for your life.

Gosh I feel so badly for any of you going through this kind of torture on your own property!

I can't understand people. What ticks in a head that believes it's ok to hurt and kill. Such rage and anger. Seems like they just really get off on intimidating. Makes you think, if they act like that to other people they don't even know, what is going on inside their own place!

Yes it is very sad that we can't enjoy our own yard. He plays music loud a lot of times, but I don't let it bother me. We have spoken to the police regarding the threat to kills our girls.

We have privacy fencing between his and our yard. We also have several tall trees. We will continue to go out with the girls. Thank you for your Advice. I want to hear any and all advice.

I know you are on high alert when you take your dog's out, but you be careful for your self as well.

He might very well be a miserable person. He has only lived here about three or four months, therefore we don't know him.
Yes, we ARE on high alert for both our dogs and ourselves. The unknown/unexpected can be threatening in itself.

I don't know what Castle Doctrine laws are, however I have never carried a gun nor do I want to shoot one. I used to go fishing a lot when I was younger, but not so much anymore bc I don't want to hurt the fish. Lol.

My back yard is "fenced and cross fenced" to keep them from even going anywhere near that side of the yard because I am so fearful poisoned meat will be tossed over the fence....not because my babies bark, but just because they are my babies and I reported the thugs when they shot out my car windows and it pizzed them off. I have the 9 camera security system, I also have a laser system that throws beams across the yard, so that if anyone comes over the fence, they will break the beam and an alarm will sound inside the house. I have every thing else you listed...my privacy fence is 8 feet tall, but that wonty keep them from throwing stuff over tthe fence. My babies do not go out into the "big yard" where I have all their ecercise equipment and fun activity center set up, until I do a complete and thorough sweep of the yard on that side of the house. I set up swimming pools over here by the patio area....the babies all stay over here in this area, where the thugs can not access.......I have this area covered by concrete and flag stones, so it is easier for me to see stuff on the ground......it is pretty dad gum sad when we have to be terrified for the safety of our kids and animals.....and even our homes, as this thug "of mine" was caught setting the local elementary school on fire.

I totally feel for you. One thing that you mentioned that we don't have is the laser system. Could you please elaborate on this system;ie brand name, where u got it, cost and any additional information.

I will keep you, your dogs and and family in my thoughts and my prayers. Blessings to you and yours.

I can understand that. I hate the idea too, but I was sure glad I had one when someone tried to kick in my door to rob the place a couple of years ago. Luckily for him (and for me too) his attempt failed and he ran off when he saw or heard me up right after the attempt.

I was just merely pointing out to the other poster that u shouldn't carry a gun without knowing the laws in your state

DH just came inside. He informed me the police is on their way. DH was outside doing yard work, our little girls are inside.....the neighbor starts screaming at DH again about our dogs and they are in our house and I haven't heard a peep from them for hours. He is also screaming about our security light and our house alarm system. He is causing my stomach to churn and giving me heart palpitations.

That's horrible. I wonder if this person is renting and all the police reports might eventually convince his landlord to boot him?

Thats what we have done. We have fenced in a smaller section inside our acre yard that is fenced. Whoever cut the fence had to breach the property to get to this smaller fenced area.

He apparently rents from a relative.

CHAMBERLAIN CWA 2000 Wireless Motion Alert System by Smarthome.
You can expand the system up to 7 detector units....since I have a large yard (live on a cul-de-sac) that is pie shaped, I have several large areas that are not visable at all from the patio area.....and I always go with more is better, so I got TWO systems and I have beams criss crossing all over my back yard and across the front yard/driveway as well. Each beam is associated with its own "beep" alarm in the house, and the dogs know the beep that is sounded when someone is coming up the front walk to the door, and the one that goes off when anything/anyone comes up the driveway.
I am sure there are much better, more expensive systems on the market, but this one fits what I needed , perfectly. The little beam boxes are small enough to be descreet....you can not see the beam, it is invisable.....I have mine at a height of around 30 inches from the ground.....too high for my dogs to trip, low enough on the ground no person can bend over and creep onto the property and the beam passes over them....I am very happy with my little system and it works very well, and I didnt have to float a loan to get it!....I have had it since 2004. Waterproof, change the batteries occasionally, and keep going!

JasmineNoelle 06-23-2013 01:20 PM

Thank you so much for this additional information. That sounds like a system we might be interested in along with our camera security system. Our children refer to our home as "little Fort Knox" bc of all the security stuff and then someone still tries to steal our babies. Ugh!

gracielove 06-23-2013 02:49 PM

You sure are doing what you can to protect your babies. The thing is if that guy is crazy enough to want to harm your dogs he could easily throw something into your yard.

I walk around my yard before I let Gracie play there. Not because of neighbors but we have cats that sometimes leave dead bodies around. I have to make sure Gracie doesn't get near one of those.

Your neighbor has no right to complain about occasional barking. Most areas only have ordinances for after 10:00 at night concerning noise. The world is getting to be such a strange place!

Even though I don't personally know this neighbor, I do believe he is mentally challenged some how or another. Off and on through out the day today he has appeared outside screaming unintelligible rants; "tear the wall down...turn off your alarm....save the Jews....it is not safe to live here....just you wait, I will show you...shut off your lights. This is some of the stuff he has been screaming this evening over and over.

Our dogs are put to bed before ten at night.

He sounds schizophrenic. Make a report on him to adult protective services, and see if they will come check him out.

Wow, he does. My uncle had schizophrenia and ended up killing a guy because he sincerely believed he was being ordered by the radio to do it. :(

Sad because he was the nicest guy in the world when on his meds, but when he got off them it was scary.

And it always hits in ones twenties

spiritwings1202 06-23-2013 03:31 PM

I am sorry that you are going through this with neighbors. I would not allow my dogs outside without someone out there with them, bc a police office once told me that a threat can become reality. If someone can threat than it is a thought, and a thought can be carried out:(
Keep those babies safe..

yorkiefan_ 06-23-2013 03:39 PM

I also had a friend get attacked by a schizophrenic homeless man on the red line train through Hollywood. Got hit right in the forehead with a metal pipe and only lived because he caught it out the corner of his eye right before it happened and was able to get his hand up to block a little of the impact. Schizophrenics are extremely dangerous people to be around. The homeless man was going off in a rant about how my friend was a racist (I wasn't there; it's what he told me). Luckily the rest of the people on the train crowded around and got the weapon out of this guy's hand quickly.

yakkwak 06-23-2013 04:23 PM

Please look at my handle name carefully to see that I know about what I'm telling you. Reasoning will not work with this person. Document all of this and remind the officers about their ability to intervene when a person demonstrates threat of "harm to self or others". Use this phrase with them!!!

JasmineNoelle 06-23-2013 05:08 PM

The police just left, they are going over there to talk to him now. The last thing we heard him screaming was that he is going to kill us if we go on his property again. We have never been on his property. I believe this young man might be very dangerous. Scared in my own house.

Yorkiemom1 06-23-2013 05:31 PM

Stay on top of this, stay very alert, and report every abnormal thing he does....if they determine he presents a clear and present danger to himself or others, he will hopefully be admitted for pschiatric evaluation.....but this character is very dangerous and he seems to be escalating, which will happen the longer he is off medication. While your pups are definately in danger, so are you and your family. I would NOT live in terror, and I would not let anyone that is clearly unstable and dangerous, be allowed to put me and my family in a death grip. I would be prepared to defend my family with deadly force if necessary. I would much rather be judged by 12 than carried by 6. Good luck with this, and do not let your guard down for one second.
