Your vet bill amount was within normal range. |
I agree with most here, that doesn't sound high to me. Also agree about dropping vaccinations that are not needed yearly & that is ALL vaccinations IMO. As for the ear gunk, I deff would have wanted that swabbed as it DOES sound like yeast & IF it is it can be miserable for a dog to have yeast in their ears. Also the blood shot eye can deff be the 1st sign of glaucoma, how did that test come out ? neg I hope as glaucoma is VERY painful for your pup. All in all the vet didn't do anything out of the ordinary for what he/she saw upon exam & deff tests I would have wanted done & expected my vet to do in the same situation. These are our babies & they can't speak for them selves so it's good that the vet was attentive to the things he/she saw & ruled out anything serious with your babies. |

Everyone has their different opinions on this. BUT I have to agree. My little dogs get one every 6 months b/c they go out in public so much and it is easy for them to catch it. Now, my large dog... he only gets it when I know he is boarding. I also take him in 2 weeks before boarding to get this it in his system instead of letting them give it the same day as drop off. Just for an exam, fecal, complete blood panel and urinalysis in my area runs roughly $275.00 so the OP got an awesome deal if you ask me. |
I think that was expensive. For nothing majorly wrong at least. I find vet care to be outrageous in my area. What bothers me is, they charged you for 2 visits because you had 2 dogs. I've never seen a vet do that, even around here they don't do that. I think an annual visit with vacs, wormer, blood work, fecal test for my 2 dogs is about $450 here. I thought that was nuts! I started getting vacs done at a clinic and saved well over $100. Its the dentals that kill me! They start at $500 with no work done, just cleaning. If they need to pull teeth or other things, then it goes up from there. It can actually wind up costing as much as $1200 for 1 dental. :( |

I think you are mixing up people, tinav looks to be a female and I don't see any rude post from her. I understand the word "rape" is a strong word but I can understand her use in this case. It is what she feels. |

The vet I go to here in Missouri doesn't charge hardly anything. And there is no office fee. I only pay for what I get done. Worming medicine is only $2. Rabies shots are $8. A full all over exam with shots is $20. This includes blood work. And when I decide to get my little guy fixed, it is only $50. This vet has been around since the 80's. She is the city vet, but since she doesn't live in town (she actually has the office on her property) she doesn't have to pay rent and all the other costs of living in town. So I think that helps keep the prices down a bit. And I love that she lives right there by her office, because she is able to go check on the animals at night. So I have no reason to complain here. :) |

But I still stand on the rape comment, as being rather ugh. |

The east coast is expensive in comparison to Missouri or Idaho. Just walking in the door is $55. My vet is on the high side but he is extremely close to my house about 5 mins away. He is also does not flower coat anything. Which I love. I took Galen in a second time for his medical issue they did not charge for a second visit. Love my vet. |
