Stairs or Ramp..? Well our wonderful maid thought it would be a good idea to step on Pnut's step to clean our fan! Lol it turns out it didnt hold her and we now need a new one Lol. So I'm not sure about your babies.. ( it would be great to hear what they like) Peanut likes to go down them, but doesnt like to jump up. I'm always picking him up! Lol so Dh was thinking he might do better on a ramp. However I'm not sure so it would be great to hear what your babies do best on and dislike!! :D |
I prefer raps over steps as steps still cause a jolt as they go down them. |
I still haven't gotten anything for Mandie and I desperately need to. I will get a ramp because she just loves jumping..I think she wouldn't have the patience for steps lol |

I use stairs right now for my girls. But would consider a ramp. When they get excited and run up the stairs we have had problems. So a ramp may be a good idea. |

This one has better ratings. |
We have stairs now but I am about to switch them out for ramps. Twice at night my boy has missed a step and hurt himself. I think they will both do much better with a ramp. |
I think it's pretty easy to train them to use the steps, but I feel like you have to train them if you want them always to do it the same way. We train up and down and cheerio’s are a great treat for my boys, hold a cheerio and guide them with my hand or put one on one of the steps. Hope you new maid wasn't hurt! |

I don't think she was, she didn't even tell us she broke it LOL. She was cleaning our bedroom and she came out and asked for a step stool- Then after they left we were in bed watching Tv, I was sitting up and I saw Peanut try to jump up, once he put his paw on the bottom the whole plastic part of the bottom step fell apart- scared him to death LOL. |
1 Attachment(s) For the meantime this is how I fixed it LOL- glad it was the bottom step! |

We got these because they have a bit of a sturdier build for its price. Animal Planet Wooden Pet Stairs - Bed Bath & Beyond I always think the ramps out there look so steep. I've seen someone that made their own that aren't as steep, but it was huge! |
It is so high maintenance over here, god help me. The 2 little ones (Marcel and Pfeiffer) will use the stairs up and down...we just have those cheap $10 ones from Walgreens. Yeah, I later bought these beautiful 4-step dark wood stairs for like $50 - they look SO nice and you guessed it, no one will use them . TURDS. With Wylie, he is categorically against all stairs and he will not inform us of his reasons. SO. After his knee surgery I tried about 18,000 different setups and he was just against all of them. Now I finally have this setup JUST for him, by our bed: small portion of yoga mat laid down for a 'landing pad', on top this and closer in to the bed I have 2 cinder blocks laid down on their sides which creates like an 8 inch landing/jumping platform to get up/down from the bed, on top of the cinder blocks I have a little carpet so he doesn't hurt his paws on the rough cinder. So, for ex, to jump down he lands on the cinder block platform, then goes down to the little yoga mat landing (rather than slippery wood floor right away), and then he's off. Yup, that's Wylie. Keep in mind when he used to eat kibble, he'd need old kibble that was sitting in his bowl 'hand-fluffed' by one of us before he'd eat that sitting-there-kibble. We'd have to pick up his bowl, make a big production of handfluffing his kibble, put bowl back down. So yeah, SUPER EASY and low maintenance over here. We're totally the alphas over here. |

Hmm I have been looking online for a good ramp- it is either too big or too small! Maybe I will buy the 10$ at CVS today to hold us over and have DH make Peanut a custom ramp!! Then we can have it fit perfectly on the side of the bed, be able to be on the ground ( so he doesn't have to jump up on the ramp). For the good ramps they are like over $100- I think DH can make one for less than that. |
