| I wish I could take him home.... Check this little guy out.... Petfinder Adoptable Dog | Yorkshire Terrier Yorkie | Commerce, MI | Bitzy..PLEASE!!!!! I've been seeing him on petfinder for MONTHS now...maybe even close to a year When I originally started looking for a dog, he was paired with 2 other dogs and they all had to be adopted out together. I believe the owner had passed away and one of her last requests was that they all 3 stay together. Months later, after trying to honor the owners wishes, the rescue decided to split them up and adopt them out...probably because it was impossible to adopt out all 3 together... and this little guy is in need of his furever home!! 15 years old is quite old for a dog and I am guessing he doesn't have more than a few years to enjoy his life...if that...and he deserves to live out his last few years as a spoiled pet. If I didn't already have a senior dog with health problems, I would for sure snatch him up and spoil him rotten for the remainder of his days....but I know I can't afford the vet bills to two seniors and give them both the medical care they need and deserve. I am pretty sure I ran into the lady who runs the rescue at the mall. She has a booth there and raises money for her rescue...and it seems like she's really passionate about rescuing. I wish I had the money and space to run a doggie retirement home!! I'd definitely take this little guy in. There are so many senior dogs out there that are in desperate need of homes and are really difficult to adopt out(thank goodness there are rescues that are patient)...it always makes me sad to see them displaced at such an old age. In some cases, like Bitsy's case, it couldn't be helped...but it just kills me when people have a dog for 10+ years and they simply decide they don't want it anymore and get rid of it like they would an old pair of shoes. It just makes me sick. If anyone lives in the area...and has the space and financial means to take care of a little old man, this little guy could use a furever home...and his adoption fee is only $150!! |

| Oh he is so cute!!!! Tiny little bugger. I love the honest statement that he is not potty trained at all. Bless it...

| I can't take him, but I do live only about 10 miles away. I had thought this group was defunct because emails sent to them in the past went un unanswered. This thread prompted me to try getting in touch with them again and I was able to reach the gal by phone. I am always supporting yorkie rescue but not in my own backyard, so I had been searching for a local group. The gal was very caring she has been doing this along time and of course reaches into her own pocket A LOT. Her focus is on sr. yorkies and also on helping people with their vet bills so they do not have to surrender their pups to rescue. So while I can not take in this pup, I do feel I will be able to help this group with fund-raising and community awareness which they desperately need.

| My heart just breaks for all of these poor babies. I used to go to different sites and look at the homeless and was even successful in finding a home for a Chihuahua by sending e-mails and using facebook. There were 3 people at my sisters job racing to the shelter to grab her. Her name was Candy. You are doing the right thing by sharing his story and information. Praying that someone steps up and gives him what he needs the most right now!

| you know a month ago when you posted this I called and spent a half hour talking with the director of this organization. I told her I can not take this pup but I am willing to help them with fund raising and public relations since they have no one to do this for them. She seemed very interested, she asked me to send her my contact info, which I did plus I gave it to her on the phone. I have not gotten any type of reply. Also about 8 months ago I found their web site when searching for yorkie rescue groups in my area. I used the contact info email and never heard back from them. I brought that up to the gal on the phone, she told me oh that email does not work and acted like it was no big deal and almost like I should have known that. I can't figure this group out,you run and organization and you know the contact email on your web site does not work, yet you don't fix it. While I feel they are taking good care of the pups they have I can't help but wonder why they are so lax about things that could bring them more money, more inquiries and more exposure.
