Leaving my baby for work. :( Hello! I am new to YT so i'll introduce myself first. My name is Destiny and i'm 19 years old. I just got my Laydee Belle on Friday and I love her so much!! Today I had to return to my normal work schedule. (Mon.-Fr. 9-5) I was terrified of leaving my Laydee at home by herself. I put her in my bathroom with her kennel (which i left open for her to navigate in and out of), her water, some food, her bed, toys, and her potty pad. I went home for lunch to check on her and she was okay just a little "off". She was thrilled to see me and I felt TERRIBLE that I had to leave her again to finish my day at work. She cried when I left again :( Any ideas on how to relieve some of her stress from being left at home? |
welcome to yt.....i would leave a clothing article that has your smell on it for her lay with during the day. what a about a lil radio on low for her to listen to. i know others will chime in with great ideas. best wishes for your laydee belle she will get used to the schedule after a few weeks. |

It will take her time to realize that you come back. The crying should subside over time. If it doesn't, then I would spend this weekend desensitizing her by leaving out the door for a few minutes and coming back like nothing is wrong. Gradually extend that time that you are out of the door. For the most part, they grow out of it, though. She's a baby and misses being with someone. Can you leave a tv or radio on for background noise? That's what I've always done. |

I always leave the radio on for mine. Right before I leave I give him two treats, he barely notices that I left because he's so busy eating the treats  you can also leave a Kong with peanut butter to keep her busy for awhile. Don't make a big fuss about leaving or coming back, it would cause separation anxiety. Also if you can go home during your lunch break, it would be great. I think it helps break their day being alone. But i know the feeling, I think a lot about my baby when I am not home :( |

Thank you so much for the advice!! |
please just be careful about leaving a kong or bully stick or any chew toys.....i had a friend with a pug baby in the hospital who got a kong stuck she bit a piece off and you dont want the baby to choke while your not around. just a gentle reminder as it can happen. |

I hate leaving them home alone too. I usually turn the tv on and use a treat dispensing ball. That seems to do the trick for me... These are the two I use: ![]() ![]() |
