Sariah, I don't post a lot....but I feel compelled to advise you to please take to heart what people are telling you. These are knowledgeable people who are looking out for you and your dogs. I know you are young but I also think you can learn from us here. |
Yah I know, since I have been on YT I have learned so much. :) |
There are many more expenses involved in breeding than just the cost of the dogs. Vet expenses, whelping supplies, veterinary care after whelping and that's assuming your female has no issue whelping or need a c section...the cost can rise significantly. A c section alone here is 2500.00 and payments aren't accepted. If you wanna breed you'd better have the bank account to afford it. Breeding is not always fun. I couldn't revive a pup in my last litter. He died after i did everything i knew to try. A small girl weighed 2 oz at birth and required tube feeding every few hours...around the clock. It is not all sunshine and roses by any means. |

I spent close to 2000.00 for the veterianary care of my last litter of four who had no health issues. Just shots and liver panels completed. |
I would suggest first getting touch with a shelter and seeing if you can volunteer for them. Learning from them. Then after a few years maybe getting in touch with a reputable breeder from the YTCA in your area. Maybe they will let you come and learn under them what really goes on showing and breeding dogs. |

I just spent almost $200 just for the vet to tell me nothing was wrong with that weird spot on Uni. Imagine if something WAS wrong! |

That's what I find fishy about rehoming a dog ... If it is a rescue where they have been pouring money into keeping up a dog (well, many dogs actually!) and helping find them a furever home, that's one thing ... People demanding so much money to rehome a dog I think is just wrong. Like they deserve to get compensation for taking care of a dog that they took on to give a home for the rest of their lives. I understand if you have to give up a dog because of health issues and / or if you are just absolutely incapable of keeping / taking care of them anymore and do it for the well - being of your animal, but I don't think that people should ask that much and if they really care about the well - being of their fur baby, shouldn't they be focusing their energy more on screening adopter hopefuls and making sure they go to a great home instead of making a few hundred dollars? Not trying to sound like a butt, but it just seems like it's a way to make a quick buck for people, and that I don't like. :( |
Wow! he\'s a sweet looking yorkie- nice eyes and a shy smile. I wish I lived in Atlanta! I\'d go get him! maybe you could post the link in a new thread so more will see him? |
