Why is everyone bringing back all the old threads. I want the new ones and I don't like to see all the old ones. :mad:

Just check the date and skip it....people browse old posts and read threads that interest them...and somehow, they bring them "back to life" and people write updated, pertinate information on them, or ask more questions.

I personally don't mind the old threads if they are adding to them...This is obviously a pet peeve? :eek:

It seems newbies sometimes don't realize how old a thread is when they post on it.

It's a pity the start date isn't listed right along with the thread title & name of the member that started the thread. I don't like wasting time having to open a thread to view the date & then see that it's years old.

I think we have all made that mistake at point of another. Just check the date of the original post.

Who cares if a thread is old? If good information is shared on a thread, information that is topical and relevant or maybe even has updates on it relative to whatever the subject of the thread, what in the world does it matter the date of the original thread? I and others have posted information on old threads simply because it was showing up in New Posts and people would be clicking on it contemporaneously. No one is made to read or post on an old thread so maybe those that don't like them can ignore them and move on. And it's kind of interesting to read through some of those old ones of many pages through the years as they grow and then see how postings on them ebb and flow over the years and even who all posted on them along the way. That's why they are still here and left open I guess - to read and possibly learn from, add to or ignore as we please.

Well, of course it does but it probably rarely harms anyone to post on an old thread or Admin would probably have them all closed after a certain time.

It's the sneakiness of it that's annoying :p

The thread pops up on NEW POSTS....so you click on it...because there's no date listed by the title :( so you don't know it's OLD....ANCIENT...often posted by non-active or no-longer a member types....just to find out you been suckered into clicking on an OLD, ANCIENT thread. Bait & switch....that's just wrong :mad:
