| thinking about a baby girl I'm thinking about getting another yorkie. I'm in no hurry just thinking right now. if i do this i only want a tiny under 6 pounds and a female. my boy is 12 pounds. will this affect him at all? will he be jealous? is it possible to find a breeder who will keep my tiny until it healthy enough to come home to us. what ?'s do i ask the breeder? what special needs if any does a tiny need? anyone who has a reg size yorkie and a tiny i would apprecialte any advice you can give me. i look at tinies like premature babies and although i would love one i want want to make sure i can give it all it needs and deserves. thanks cocoa

| Six pounds isn't so bad, just always make sure everyone is healthy and happy. Is Lucky fixed yet? That would be my biggest worry. If you are thinking of breeding, I would study up on that first. It is really hard to keep them apart until she is old enough to have puppies. They love each other and I coudn't bear to keep them apart. Plus my friend said Bronx wasn't old enough to 'do it'. HA! He showed her.

Oh no !!!!! No breeding over here..... I work full time and lucky is already fixed. I'll either have her fixed before she comes or after. I do want a companion for lucky. he's bored by himself when hes home during the day. my biggest concern is how they will get along. is there a centain way to introduce them. also lucky is 8 months so he's still my baby, should i wait for him to be an adult? and lastly does size matter? one big, one small, or should they both be around the same size for them to get along? guess ill have to read some other threads. thanks

| For me, the biggest concern is the statement that you work full time. There is no mention about who is home during the day to supervise the dogs? Train them? Socialize them with each other as well as humans? House-train? If someone is gonna be doing all of those things, I would see very little reason to get a friend for your boy. It would not be safe to crate or pen them together for a good while and if they are crated separately, the two dogs will not be company for each other.. These are just a few questions and comments that I as a breeder would ask. I am not trying to be mean, but there are so many more things to consider before adding another Yorkie to your family.. |

| I think it would be a great idea to get a girl. Small & Big furbabies get along great. Just make sure you are there with them when they first meet. Its a good idea to take time off. At first they won't get along, but as soon as he finds out she's there to be a lifetime friend, and not just a visit, it will work out. Good luck to you!!!!

| Getting another I have 4 now and work full time. It CAN be done. With each new one I put the new one in a crate so the yorkies could smell each other without overwhelming the new one. After the other dogs go back to their normal activity I could let the new one out. I believe you can work and have dogs, but I work very hard to make sure mine are with me as much as possible. My husband and I have staggered work hours so the pups are never alone more than 5 hours. We walk in the park each day and I take one at a time to work with me. I walk with several other people with dogs so my babies are exposed to many new invironments. We have a farm so the dogs get to enjoy the country life too. I think yorkies NEED a friend...and its is very hard to stop with 1 or 2 of them! If you want another...GO FOR IT. As long as you love them and care for them..they will be fine...These are SUPER dogs.
